Be happy, be safe and be healthy as 2020 has been a year of turbulences, especially for us at the sporting disciplines with the CoronaVirus.
With that in mind, we want to take it as the year of reflection, and build upon those hurdles and see this 2021 a year of accomplishing more basketball projects to make the game (basketball) accessible to those young people who intend to take it as a career path in this part of Sierra Leone.

On that backdrops, the executive of the Bombali District Basketball Association (BDBA) wishes its members and all a happy new year

How much the Wusum Field Basketball Court Rehabilitation Cost?

Background.
The wusum field basketball court rehabilitation project came from the research/survey done by the Bombali District Basketball Association to make more basketball facilities accessible by ballers and encourage new boys and girls to choose basketball and inculcate it to the school sporting activities. On this backdrops, the Wusum field was chosen as the first to rehabilitate because it's the main and regional court if not the district.

Therefore, from this survey/research, the Wusum field projects started on the 5th December 2020.

The said project is divided into five (5) phases:

1. The floor
2. The stands
3. The Fence/mesh
5. The Floodlight

NOTE: The Contractor estimated Le. 40,000,000 for the first phase. FLOOR

The Association has Le. 750,000 in its coffer to start the project but a big boost from the Makeni ex-ballers based in Europe, USA etc who sent Le. 16,000,000 via the Makeni Shooting Stars Basketball team bank account 00 300 6041 7441 12137

Expenditure of the above Le. 16,000,000 received will be updated in due time.

Updates Basketball
🏀 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

The Bombali District Basketball Association in collaboration with the Makeni Shooting Stars Team is embarking on a robust rehabilitation at the Makeni Wusum Field Basketball Court.

This is in line with the District Association to make the game accessible to the young boys that have to choose the game. The entire Makeni municipality can boast of having this only facility that is up and running compared to the deplorable condition of the other facilities within the city. The Association has identified and planned to rehabilitate those deplorable courts respectively.

This is a project that is solely sponsored by the Makeni former Basketballers based in Europe (diaspora) and the Association for now, although the Association and the team have made many strives to reach other goodwill stakeholders to see these projects (rehabilitation of basketball courts in Makeni) accomplish.

The more the merrier.
