The wisdom of God Almighty is that He distinguished between His creation in time and place. He preferred some places over others, and He preferred some times over others. Thus, in times, He preferred the month of Ramadan over all other months, for it is like the sun among the stars. This month was singled out for great virtues and great advantages, for it is the month that was revealed. In God is the Qur’an. Allah said: {The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of guidance and criterion} (Al-Baqarah: 185)
It is the month in which God imposed fasting, and God Almighty said: “O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you that you may become righteous” (Al-Baqarah: 183).
It is the month of repentance and forgiveness, and expiation of sins and bad deeds. Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him(our messenger's friend), he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (The five daily prayers, Friday to Friday, and Ramadan to Ramadan, are expiations for what is between them if major sins are avoided.)
Whoever fasts and prays in prayer out of faith in God’s promises, and hoping for reward and recompense from God, his previous sins will be forgiven. In “Al-Sahih” the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven), and he said: (Whoever He prayed Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. He also said: (Whoever stands in Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven). And whoever catches it and is not forgiven has disobeyed his will and God has cast him away. Thus, Gabriel, peace be upon him, supplicated upon him, and our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, granted that Supplication.
It is the month of liberation from Hell. In the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (And a caller calls: O seeker of good, come forward, and O seeker of evil, turn back. And God has liberation from the Fire, and that is every night) Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.
It is the month of patience, for patience is not manifested in any act of worship as it is manifested in fasting, for in it the Muslim withholds himself from his desires and beloved things, and for this reason fasting is half of patience, and the reward for patience is Paradise. The Almighty said: {Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without reckoning} (Al-Zumar: 10).
It is the month of supplication. God Almighty said after the verses of fasting: “And when My servants ask you about Me, then I am near. I respond to the supplication of the supplicant when he calls upon me.” (Al-Baqarah: 186). He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “There are three whose supplications are not rejected: the fasting person until he breaks his fast, the fair imam,(The just ruler ) and the supplication of the oppressed.” ) Narrated by Ahmed. It is the month of generosity and charity. Therefore, peace and blessings of God be upon him - as proven in the Sahih - was the most generous in the month of Ramadan.
It is a month in which there is Laylat al-Qadr, in which God has made work in it better than work in a thousand months, and the deprived is one who is deprived of its goodness. The Almighty said: {The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months} (Al-Qadr: 3). Ibn Majah narrated on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, who said: Ramadan entered, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (This month has come to you, and in it is a night better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of it has been deprived of all goodness, and its goodness is not deprived except one who is deprived.)
