3 December 2025 – International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Secretary of SDFF, Abdinasir Mohamed Jimcaali, together with representatives of the federation, participated today in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities event held at Peace Hotel, Mogadishu. SDFF remains committed to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of Athletes with Hearing impairments in Somalia.

Somali Deaf Football Federation (SDFF) President Mohamed Osman Muhiadin today held an important meeting with the Vice Chairman, Abdifitah Abdi dahir and Secretary General Abdinasir Mohamed Jimale and also the Executive Committee of the Somali Deaf Football Association to accelerate the plans for the upcoming year.

The meeting, which took place at the Astaan TV Headquarters, was also joined by Fuad Abdullahi Hassan, a senior executive at Astaan. Fuad pledged that this year Astaan Group will support and ensure the successful return of the Mogadishu Districts Football Tournament for Deaf Players, a competition that has been postponed for the past two years due to various challenges. The discussion concluded positively, with all parties agreeing to strengthen cooperation and jointly advance the development of deaf football in Somalia.

Friendly match: USA vs Germany in the United States, near New York, as part of the USA’s preparation for the Deaflympics 2025. Although Germany is not qualified, this is the first time in history that the German football team is participating in a match related to the Deaflympics since 1924.

Somali Deaf Football Federation SDFF, in collaboration with the National Youth Council of Somalia, officially concluded the Award Ceremony for Deaf Sports held in celebration of the International Week of the Deaf 2025.

During the ceremony, the Chairperson of the National Youth Council and the Chairperson of SDFF jointly expressed their heartfelt appreciation to all supporters and partners who contributed to the success of this remarkable event. Special recognition and gratitude were extended to the following sponsors and Partners: Yasmin Foundation Disability Aid Foundation, SomCity Somtel Company

Sincere thanks were conveyed to the Managing Director of the Port of Mogadishu, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum, and the Deputy Chairperson of the National Disability Agency (NDA) for their participation and encouragement toward the Somali Deaf athletes.

This event not only celebrated sporting excellence among the Deaf community but also reaffirmed the commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and equal opportunity in Somali sports.
