We started our school on the 6th of Dec 2005. Capoeira is een Braziliaanse culturele uiting met een uitdagende combinatie van dans, muziek en vechtkunst.
In Suriname wordt deze vorm van culturele uiting al circa 6 jaren beoefend door een groep Surinamers onder de naam “Grupo Capoeira Suriname”. Sinds kort heeft deze groep Surinamers zich aangesloten bij een Capoeira associatie, Capoeira Mestiçagem Association Internationale, die in Brazilië, Frans Guyana en nu ook in Suriname gevestigd is. Tijdens een onlangs gehouden Batizado in Cayenne, Frans Guyana, hebben nu twee Surinamers de graad Instrutor en Monitor verkregen.
