He combined a coach's passion for building teams and character with an activist's unwavering commitment to justice. That powerful combination touched so many lives, including Abyei Basketball Community and South Sudan at large. He will be remembered with great respect and admiration.

NBA looks forward to establishing it's commercial hub in Nairobi, Kenya and will build more than 50 on average basketball courts in schools and communities across Kenya in the next decade in an effort to grow the sport of basketball.

Basketball in Abyei faces several challenges during the rainy season:

1. Flooded Courts: Heavy rainfall often leads to flooding, making outdoor basketball courts unusable.

2. Transportation Issues: Roads become impassable due to mud and flooding, making it difficult for players and teams to travel to games and practices.

3. Safety Concerns: The rainy season can exacerbate security issues in the region, as mobility is restricted and access to safe locations becomes more challenging.

4. Equipment Damage: Constant exposure to rain can damage basketball equipment, such as hoops and balls, which are often left outdoors.

Despite these obstacles, the local basketball community continues to find ways to keep the sport alive and engage youth in positive activities.

Kindly be reminded that this are challenges we encounter every season in Abyei.
