Silver X Question the reason behind the Equatorian nickname Nyamnyam

Silver X, a prominent artist currently based in Australia brought up one of very controversial and funny topic on his Facebook post. Jokingly asking the Nuer people in particular about the Equatorian people being called Nyamnyamni.

“My Nuer people, why do you call us the Equatorian Nyamnyam?” He asked.

The term Nyamnyam is commonly used by the Nuer people to describe the people of Equatoria. However the interpretation of the name and its meanings is not clear to the public though it was widely heard in Gorden Koang’s famous song.

Under his comments section, this question was suggesting different interpretations from the netizens. One commentor aired out his comments by saying ‘Nyamnyam is someone who eats people’ while on the other hand one argued that Nyamnyam is someone who eats anything for survival but due to this economic crisis everyone deserves to be called Nyamnyam not only the Equatorian.

One commentator suggested that Silver X should ask Gordon Koang for more clarification since the term Nyamnyam appeared in one of his songs.
