Last evening was a beautiful reminder that dance is more than movement — it is culture, connection, storytelling, and unity. ✨

We sincerely appreciate the management of the Derrick Festival for inviting us to share our passion for dance through our co-founder Juma Bido. It was truly an honor speaking to the audience and witnessing the curiosity and excitement around our initiatives at Juba Kizomba Social.

Bido shared powerful insights about the importance of preserving culture through dance and reflected on his inspiring journey from dancing in church to now mentoring and building an entire dance community in South Sudan.

Through Juba Kizomba Social, we had the privilege of hosting the ALABU Kizomba Festival last November, where we also partnered with the Cultural Trend Network to facilitate a special session on traditional South Sudanese dances from five different ethnic groups.

Today, we are proud to see this impact crossing borders. Some of our international visitors carried these experiences back home and are now teaching South Sudanese dances in Lisbon, while others from Kenya and Democratic Republic of the Congo continue embracing South Sudanese music and culture.

This is a true affirmation that dance is a universal language, one that has the power to unite us all.

CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY ✨🎶

This Wednesday, come and listen to one of South Sudan’s finest dance talents, Juma Bido, the Lead Coach at Juba Kizomba Social.

Since 2019, Juma has been passionately teaching Kizomba, Salsa, Bachata, and Semba in Juba, creating a safe and exciting space for people to learn, connect, and express themselves through dance. But his love for rhythm and movement started long before then. Raised around music and culture from childhood, Juma carries deep musicality and proudly dances many South Sudanese cultural dances, blending tradition with modern social dance styles. 🇸🇸✨

Beyond dance, he is also a successful entrepreneur and a Corporate B2B expert with over 10 years of experience proof that art, leadership, culture, and business can beautifully coexist.
