The Syrian Consulting Bureau was established in Damascus in 1991 by Dr. Nabil Sukkar, former Senior Economist at the World Bank in Washington D.C.

Since its establishment, SCB has carried out various macro-economic and sector studies in addition to conducting numerous feasibility and market assignments. The Syrian Consulting Bureau for Development and Investment (SCB) has completed its annual Cost of Living Index report for the year 2020.
The report will follow the SCB’s annual cost of living reports it has been producing since 2007. It covers prices of products and services (grouped in 12 categories) consumed by typical middle income family in the Damascus area and compare the 2020 index with the indexes of the previous years.
