Fri the 13th: It's either πŸ€ or hard work, which do you live your life by?

I chose to live my life with intention.

One of my former corp. jobs had 13 floors in the building and a former teammate always had 13 on her jersey. Both believed they were lucky.
Who's right?

Pretty sure its the one who keeps moving forward despite the setbacks, knowing in certain truth that luck is just for those who believe there's no room for unwavering confidence.

So....happy Friday the 13th Team!
Make the most of it!

It might not be the sexiest thing, but some basic habits get us the results of our reality.

Athletes move their bodies no matter what. One habit each week: Which one have you been working on consistently?

Make sure to save this and refer back to it anytime you need a reassuring confidence boost.
Being an athlete as an adult is a little more like a puzzel- you got this!

πŸ“ Letter from a former athlete: I feel like I've lost my way and myself.

I'm a wife and mom of three.
In a career, a full time college student.

I'm grateful to be all those things.
But I miss me.
I've been part of this group for months and haven't so much as started the calendar.
I use to be SO dedicated to fitness.

I was an athlete. I craved the gym. I stil do, in the core of me. But I push it to the side to prioritze everything else.

I am desperately wanting to find ME again.

I'm asking those of you balancing it all, holding on by a thread, how do you do it?

How do you become deicated to you again?

Signed,
someone who really wants to be the best version of herself again.

Oh my πŸ’™ goes out to you if you relate to this!
Our TCF Online Team is full of former athletes who've taken on these very roles.

If you have any words of encouragement for this mama, drop them below!

πŸ₯° When's the last time you said something nice to yourself that you would say to someone else?

🀘I'm not usually one to acknowledge all these silly holidays, but there are some worth taking a pause for.

I feel pretty blessed to never have braces and 'I just love smiling, smiling's my favorite' πŸ’š

Compliment a friend in the comments, maybe they need to hear it today!

24/02/2022

πŸ“£ Remember, most days you gotta be your own damn hype-woman.

πŸ‘‹ But I'll always be here to be your teammate too

You're doing great
You're stronger than you realize
You're sexy AF
And you got out of bed today

Go crush your day Team

xo, Coach Ari

πŸ’ͺ🏽 One of the best reasons to do dynamic strength training-we don't just do squats and bicep curls during TCF Workouts.
Read all the best benefits of strength training on the blog-link in bio

1️⃣ Better Balance/reaction time= less injuries, better abs because you're always engaging them.

Here are just a few examples:
When you have to hit your ball out of a nasty bunker because you shanked it, you need good balance and even strength to get back out (IYKYK).

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to avoid a pothole or curb on my bike or road-running route.

πŸ”‘ So yea...Strength training includes stability work:
❌ One thing we tend to do after considering ourselves seasoned athletes or fitness enthusiasts, is discontinue balance and stability training. PSSST. Just because you can't SEE those muscles working, doesn't mean they aren't crucial for adults as we age.

πŸ’ͺ🏽 In my programs I focus on unilateral training, balance training, and tons of β€˜ab workouts’ that you would never consider adding to your routine.

πŸ’ͺ🏽 Think single leg balance, single arm pulls, plank rotations, lunges, step ups, etc- in which your core HAS to be a main focus.

πŸ’ͺ🏽 At TCF Online, you’ll implement core training in every workout. So your spine becomes strong AF, and you're ready for your ACTUAL life.

πŸ€” Unpopular opinion: Trendy diets and workout programs DO NOT WORK.

Did you guess the right date? The date most people quit on their new years resolutions..keep reading.

We often set ourselves up for failure with goals like "I'm going to lose 20lbs this month" or "I'm going to COMPLETELY change my diet".

Start with 2 or 3 SMALL things to influence a big change over time, and you'll actually stick with it for life.

🀯 Did you know that the biggest percentage of people in America quit their new fitness routine on January 12th?!

Looking for those fad diets and trendy workout programs never take into account how unpreditable life is!

πŸ₯°Yes it takes work, but changing our habits should also feel like YOU get a say in those decisions don't you think?

πŸ‘‰Instead....try an approach like:
"First I'm going to cut out beer or soda from my weekly routine"
"I can commit to 2 workouts/week right now and I'll work up to 3 over the next month"

I'm not saying it's wrong to push through the hard days, (but are you really going to do 75 hard for the entire year?)...just posing the question!

What happens if you really have a s**t storm going on: Hello Covid...career, college, kids, divorce, marriage, widowed, all of the above....you just lose yourself and who you once were.

You are not alone.

And that's so important to remember. You're really not.

We're all just pushing through our own tough days and dark s**t we hide. The beauty is we always get to come back to another day and by putting less pressure on ourselves we can get a different outcome.

We get to choose if we want to feel different, look different, think different.

But we must DO and MOVE different.

How's your first week of January going team? 🏞 Are we thinking about the mountain we have to climb or just taking the first steps and enjoying some small feelings of accomplishment?
