More than five years after the suspension of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Constitution, it is now clear that the United Kingdom’s excursion into TCI’s internal affairs is more about finding lucrative employment for retired and semi-retired British civil servants, policemen, and lawyers, than cleaning up corruption

Our country should be moving towards independence

The hearts of Turks and Caicos people reflect that the British has worn out their welcome in the Turks and Caicos Islands and their days are numbered.

The British government has destroyed the Turks and Caicos economy, its judicial system and eroded the rule of law over the past four years.

No matter how much the British government puts misinformation out there to hide the true agenda and to cover up for incompetent officials, it will not change the facts nor the hearts of Turks and Caicos people that the British has worn out their welcome in the Turks and Caicos Islands and their days are numbered.

Any decision to sever the constitutional link between the UK and a territory should be on the basis of the clear and constitutionally expressed wish of the people of the territory.We believe that the UN decolonisation committee should delist territories where this is their wish.

The people of each territory have the right to choose whether or not their territory should remain a British Overseas Territory.
