Assalaamu Aleykoum, My Islamic name is Aisha, but I'm born " Marie-Laurence", from a Catholic background. I've never been really religious until I found Islam, Alhamdulillah. Things have changed for the best. When I converted, it was a secret. I was ashamed of my faith astaghfirullah. So hijab wasn't part of the plan but I loved how it looked on me. Every time I would pray, I would see how it made me look elegant. So one day I decided to wear it outside. I was so scared but everyone went great. I even met a girl I knew and she said nothing about my scarf, she talked to me normally. I was so happy, what an amazing even though my family doesn't agree with my decision, they respect me. I hope that one day they'll be able to understand better and maybe follow the right path with me insha'Allah ❤ - Aisha, Canada
