WELCOME TO DISCOVERY DIVE CENTRE
Discovery Dive Centre is the premier 5-Star PADI dive centre in Koh Samui offering the highest quality of service for reasonable prices. We are one of the longest operating dive shops on the island as having been in business since 1998 and have the most experienced and respected full time dive staff in Koh Samui. We have had the same management and location in place since 1998 and the dive center is family owned (American and Thai) and the owners live and reside full-time in Thailand even in the current pandemic time. We offer a full range of PADI courses taught in multiple languages from Bubblemaker, Discover Scuba diving and open water diver up to professional level divemaster training. Discovery is also one of the only dive schools on the island that operates our own speedboats. You can enjoy fast travel times to all of the dive sites in the gulf on one of our 4 purpose built speedboats. At Discovery Dive Centre we are committed to fun and safety. We believe that the customers needs come first. We adhere to all new safety standards (covid-19) and can tailor your dive vacation to your specific needs. The Tuskfish. A type of Wrasse, rarely seen in the Gulf of Thailand. Found today at Southwest Pinnacle… very cool find. Check out the amazing tusk like teeth at the front! (Hence the name 😜)

Every morning we hear the same question… “have you seen any Whale Shark recently?” Sometimes the answer is “yes” sometimes “no”, but always followed with, “if it’s our lucky day, it’s our lucky day.” Today was a lucky day 🤩
We geared up, we jumped, we descended, everyone 👌, ok let’s go…. Ding ding ding ding…. “Hey guys, there is a Whale Shark right there” 😂 2minutes into the dive!!
An absolute dream encounter 😍
You never know when your lucky day will be, but there is only one way to get lucky…. Be in the water 😜

Shark Island strikes again!!! Two of our instructors noticed a line hanging from the back of the Whale Shark, thinking it was a fishing line, they went to remove it, only to notice it had a tracker attached to it. The good people of Koh Tao have been implementing this to track the Whale Shark behaviour. Don’t worry about the Shark getting stuck, if the line gets caught it will pull out easily.
Very lucky end to the day for our guests and staff today!!

🐡Pufferfish Struggling in the Current! 🥵Have you ever seen this? It fought so hard whilst all the other fish around it cruised by, like no current was present at all. Sheer determination and willpower of this Giant Pufferfish. Well done buddy 💪🤙 don’t worry, it made its way into a small alcove and could take a rest and break 🙌

Southwest Pinnacle 😎🤩 the lesser known of the pinnacles but an unbelievable dive! Big schools of fish moulding together as one, groupers, stingrays, and always the chance for a Whale Shark. An epic dive day 🤙🙌

It was a Whale Shark kind of day today 🤩 nothing quite like that feeling…. The energy shifts, you’re hovering in a moment of pure peace and tranquility, with the biggest fish in the ocean 🤙🤘 a spectacular day 😎 thank you 🙏

Lionsmane Jellyfish 🪼 at the mercy of the currents. Providing food for turtles and other tropical fish. However, when they get stuck on corals, it’s hard for them to break themselves free. Mesmerising beauty, jellyfish are misunderstood creatures. So graceful and beautiful to watch 😍

A very rare encounter with the Stiped Catfish Eels (baby ones!) found in the middle of the Fusilier school of fish at Tanote Bay. We seem them verrrrrrry rarely. A fun sight to see!
