Numerous studies have demonstrated the Olympic lifts’ unique capacity to develop strength, muscle, power, speed, coordination, vertical leap, muscular endurance, bone strength, and the physical capacity to withstand stress. It is also worth mentioning that the Olympic lifts are the only lifts shown to increase maximum oxygen uptake, the most important marker for cardiovascular fitness.

When Coach Glassman speaks of constant variation he speaks additionally to the need for variation in environment, surface and tools utilised.

From thrusters barefoot in the sand to pull-ups hanging from bamboo and workouts done in humid heat we keep it constantly varied - sometimes by design and sometimes by necessity.

Life is constantly varied - so it only makes sense that your training reflects this.

One thing characteristic of CrossFit training is a bias towards pulling movements. Pulling movements recruit the muscles of the posterior chain strengthening the back, improving posture and spinal health. We focus on what is functional and, in life there's nothing better than a bulletproof back!

Women start their CrossFit journey with common goals. What they aren't yet aware of at this point is the sense of pride, the sense of achievement that comes with learning and progressing new skills. To be able to do things they never thought possible builds immense confidence and capability.

The beauty of the program is that the focus soon becomes about progression and fun, rather than merely working out, and that's profound.

CrossFit is about ‘constantly varied, functional movements.’ Every day you come to our class, you know you’re going to see a new workout on the board. That’s a huge part of the appeal of CrossFit, and how we develop as well-rounded athletes and human beings — always ready for the unknown and unknowable.

Swimming, if you didn’t already know, is a particularly vigorous workout. The world’s best swimmers move through the water with grace and economy, while the inexperienced are awkward, clumsy and inefficient. You may be an incredibly fit individual; strong, with good capacity, highly mobile and skillful with CrossFit movements - but as soon as you immerse yourself in H20, things begin to change.

Water, is 900 times thicker than air and is highly unstable as a medium for applying power. Therefore, swimming much like other high skill based exercises is all about utilising one’s stroke in the most efficient manner. Athletes aren't able to rely solely on strength, endurance and flexibility when they jump in the water. The elements of technique and form are of far greater importance.

Swimming has become a staple of the CrossFit Games, and that’s transitioning over to the programming of more and more CrossFit affiliates that have access to a pool or the ocean. Luckily we're one of them, and we utilise this element as part of our important metabolic conditioning modality.

The purpose of CrossFit is to develop a fitness that results in athletes who are generally physically prepared for everything and anything. This is reflected in our programming in multiple arenas and no one said anything about those arenas being limited to land-based activities.

It is proven that high intensity, lower duration training yields the best athletic result.

During your workout you will experience high intensity movement combinations ranging in duration between 8 and 30 minutes – it is not about how long you go, it's how hard you go. Sure, we work hard – but that's why we get results. We encourage each of our members to work to their full potential, trust in our coaching and to never underestimate what they can achieve.

Flexibility is the ability to move a body part through a full range of motion without being restricted by tightness. Maintaining an adequate degree of flexibility is important to general health and total well being.

Successful performance of any activity depends on flexibility to reduce the likelihood of possible injury to ligaments, muscles and tendons. Tight soft tissue can restrict the range of motion of a joint, thus limiting performance.

In order to increase and maintain flexibility, it is necessary to perform appropriate stretching exercises before and after each every activity.

Stretching before physical activity prepares your body for exercise and helps prevent injuries. It also helps improve your range of motion and assists in the warm up process.

Stretching after exercise helps your body cool down and helps prevent muscle soreness. Additionally, as your muscles are already warm and more receptive to stretching, it will also help to improve long term flexibility.

Under the methodology, flexibility takes equal priority amongst the ten components of fitness.

VS

‼️PT - $40++ for 1 session.
✅CrossFit $45 for 3 classes.
3 sessions/classes every week is what is required to get results. PT is not sustainable and out of reach for most people. If you can't afford to sustain paying the hefty prices then you won't be able to continue training and progress. You'll waste your money. Fitness is for life, it's not about quick fixes, transformations and gimmicks. It's your health you're talking about.

‼️PT - What is your trainer's expertise?
✅ CrossFit coaches are experts in fitness. It's not hard to call yourself a PT and a 12 week course can get you rights to that title. So how much do they know? CrossFit coaches and affiliate owners are experts in movement. We dedicate our lives to making people better with commitment, dedication, constant education and we can deliver you to fitness.

‼️ PT - There's rarely any system.
✅ CrossFit defines fitness and the means to achieve it. PT sessions all too often just focus on a sweat with little or no methodology, the why you're doing what you're doing. It's a lot of smoke and mirrors. CrossFit is a globally proven fitness methodology that understands fitness and how to achieve it. It is a holistic approach to health underpinned by nutrition and combines cardio, gymnastics and weight training in a constantly varied format. You learn, you progress, you never get bored and you're on a journey somewhere.

‼️ PT - Too many trainers program 'gym' movements which have little to no transference into everyday life. Gimmicky and complicated just for the sake of it.
✅ CrossFit is based on fundamental motor recruitment patterns - that is, movements we were designed to do. Movements that pre-date gyms by thousands of years. These functional movements are safer, more effective and elicit a far greater neuroendocrine response. There is a direct benefit to everyday life.

‼️ PT - It's lonely.
✅ CrossFit is community. It's more than just training, it's a lifestyle you share with your fellow members. You get supported, motivated, inspired and make friends along the way. Much of the fun is in the community, it's why people love it and keep coming back.

💁🏽 CrossFit J delivers a proven fitness training system in small groups of 4 in a class. You receive the personal feel combined with CrossFit fitness at a fraction of the price of personal training. Remember the playground?
What if fitness was fun?

In CrossFit we run, we jump, we throw, we lift and climb - the sky's the limit. Why? Because these are all things our bodies are designed to do, and by doing them repeatedly, we become stronger, fitter and better in life.

Movements that involve us doing exercises that are fundamental to our everyday life - pulling, pushing, running, throwing, lifting and jumping! These movements pre-date gyms by thousands of years.

CrossFit is a proven global fitness phenomenon that has defined fitness and the means to achieve it. It is characterised by being observable, repeatable and measurable - that is, results you can measure, see and feel!
