“Is this ALL you were meant for?”
That question rattled around in my mind for years after my best friend Chris’ death…
And it eventually transformed my ENTIRE life from the ground up.
I went from an administrative assistant at the business school to building my own web development business. And with coaching and online training courses, I later grew a thriving business empire and client list that took me across 4 continents, around the globe a few times.
My Journey led me across 35 countries, until one day I unexpectedly became a father…
With a whole new set of responsibilities dropped in my lap, and a son on the opposite side of the globe, my whole world turned upside down. My workflows grinded to a halt, everything that had worked before didn’t work anymore, and with what felt like 1000 spinning plates, eventually I lost control and my entire empire came crashing down around me.
One night, while pulling my hair out writhing on the floor in the depths of my “dark night of the soul”, after trying and trying for so long to force my life in a direction it just would not go anymore, a small inner Voice began to ask me: “Are you ready to surrender yet, and LET GO of control?”
Learning to listen to this still quite Voice deep inside helped open me up to countless painful questions. Questions I had avoided for so long, but that exposed the Truth, and important new perspectives that led me to discover solutions that really worked.
It finally led me to create real ALIGNMENT with who I had become after all this time — especially as a father.
And now I am on the NEXT cycle of my Journey… reading through the pages again with new eyes.

This lesson took me 33 YEARS to learn!
If you want to build something substantial, your Foundation is what matters more than ANYTHING.
With firm foundations, you can build a Great Empire! A Kingly Castle… a Holy Temple… a Lofty Skyscraper…
But without stability, ANYTHING you attempt to build in this life will eventually crumble and fall to ruin…
So HOW do we develop firm foundations?? Great question!
How do we develop STRUCTURE in our lives strong enough to weather the storms and quakes that are certain to strike from time to time?
It begins with asking ourselves pointed QUESTIONS just like the one above. As Tony Robbins says, the quality of your life comes down to the quality of questions you are willing to ask yourself.
The most profound question that ever occurred to me came in 2004 when one of my absolute closest friends departed this world in a motorcycle accident. At just 22 years old my brother Christopher Reid Cravens left this world in an instant.
I had lost elderly relatives before, but this was the first time the threat of Death became truly REAL to me.
After living my first two decades in a bubble, I finally snapped out of my stupor and wondered: “Is this ALL there is to life?”
When my best friend Patrick shocked me with the news that morning, I nearly dropped my cell phone as I was filling my Pontiac with gas. I called in to my job and told them I needed a personal day, and I drove two hours up into the mountains of Northern California to stare at Lake Tahoe.
All day I wondered what the F**K the point of all this was…
After recently witnessing one of my coworkers awarded for 30 years of service pushing the same papers in the same office for so long I wondered “Is this REALLY all we’re meant for here on this earth??”
Question after question flooded into my mind and it would eventually transform my life until it became unrecognizable.
I soon quit my job.
I sold my stupid car.
I moved to the opposite side of the earth, and began a tireless search for REAL-life experiences, and HUMAN interaction. I didn’t know what I was seeking at the time, but my search would eventually lead me to discover my Self…

Often when we feel lost in the Chaos of this world it is important to take a break, catch our breath, and step back from the day-to-day grind to return and review.
Get centered, find SPACE from your normal daily routine, seek perspective (often others will be instrumental in helping provide this for you) and meditate on your direction in life, your Vision for the future, and your priorities. In 2018, it’s so EASY to be distracted and misled by the concerns of others around us, by social media, the awareness of 7 billion other beings on this planet and all the problems around us that need fixing.
I am NOT asking you to be cold, careless, to disconnect, or embrace nihilism. Not at all. But one MUST put on his own oxygen mask before he can help others around him.
I am SO GRATEFUL to my good friend Dwight Turner and the incredible Kingdom of Thailand for helping me unlearn the unessential, rewrite my story, and reverse-engineer my priorities 10 years ago when I needed a DRASTIC reset in my life.
There is something transformative about connecting with the natural world, interacting with wildly foreign cultures, and putting oneself through challenging experiences that helps propel the soul through important growth periods in a way that can’t be achieved otherwise. I cannot wait to recreate this growth experience with Dwight and other close friends soon in Thailand in the New Year.🌴

Next month we’ll be returning to my FAVORITE place on earth! Thailand here we come!🌴
From New Year’s through the end of January we’ll lead a heroic travel expedition across Bangkok and the southern beaches of Krabi, exploring the sights, sounds and vibrant tastes of the amazing Thai culture.
The pace, the mindset, the beauty and the PRESENCE of the unique Thai way of life are out of this world to many Westerners who first encounter this magical kingdom. The unique Buddhist tendency of BEING … Here … Now … is one of a kind.
Living in this majestic place for seven years taught me MANY important lessons about myself, about what matters, and about connecting with something deeper, more profound, and transcendent. I cannot wait to share many of those lessons with you. Stay tuned…

10 years ago I was living in the big exotic metropolis of Bangkok, hustling with my best friend Dwight by day and partying it up by night.
When my folks came for a visit to the wild east, we explored across the different regions of Thailand and I first discovered a truly magical paradise that would become my FAVORITE place on earth (in all my travels across 35 countries)
After a decade getting to know the area, it’s culture and many of its unique inhabitants, it still holds a tremendously special place in my heart (and FOREVER will!)
In ONE month, we’ll be reuniting with Dwight again in Bangkok and traveling down south to the idyllic beaches of Krabi and the Andaman Sea for another unforgettable adventure…
