A big thank you to the organization at Krabi Scuba Diving, bringing Dive Centre’s together to educate & take part in both the cleaning of the ocean and the beaches.

Day two of "KRABI SCUBA DIVING 2026" began with an underwater cleanup operation in Krabi, heading towards Ao Nui and Ao Ling Yai.
The major conservation-focused diving competition, "KRABI SCUBA DIVING 2026," kicked off its second day (September 10, 2026) amidst a dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere among the volunteer divers.
In the morning, athletes and participants gathered at the designated meeting point—the Phi Phi Island pier—to register and meticulously check their diving gear. They then took part in a group photo and received a briefing on safety and preparation before embarking on their mission.
At 9:00 AM, the athletes boarded two vessels—the *Reef Ranger* and an excursion boat—departing from the Phi Phi Island pier. They headed to the first competition site at Ao Nui, in the Phi Phi archipelago, to officially begin their mission of collecting waste and preserving the underwater environment.
After completing the first mission, the athletes traveled to the second competition site at Ao Ling Yai, also in the Phi Phi archipelago, to continue their underwater cleanup efforts before returning to shore at 1:30 PM. The organizing committee collected and weighed the waste, then calculated the competition scores.
Later, at 8:00 PM, an official awards ceremony was held to announce the results and honor the winning teams. Ms. Aree Wasanasithi, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) for Krabi Province, presided over the ceremony and presented the awards. Summary of results from Day 2 of the "KRABI SCUBA DIVING 2026" competition:
First place: The Green Guardians team won the trophy for collecting the highest volume of waste (751.75 points).
Second place: Samila Diving Club. The Dek Noi team received a trophy with a score of 268.9 points. The Dek Noi team also received a trophy for waste collection with a score of 147.5 points.
Honorable mention: Ngan Ngok Team (127.3 points)
Honorable mention: Muang Trang Team (92.55 points)
Honorable mention: Le Trang Diving 1 Team (75.2 points)
This event aimed to boost sports tourism in Krabi province—specifically scuba diving—while also contributing to the protection of the marine ecosystem and the sustainable preservation of the natural beauty of the Phi Phi Islands.
We will develop more the idea of how sport can contribute to nature conservation especially with some sport and citizen sciences program...
