Three cuttlefish having a little underwater play fight 🦑🦑🦑

We spotted these three around Buoyancy World, close to Twins dive site in Koh Tao.

They can change their colour, pattern and even skin texture in seconds, using their incredible camouflage to communicate, attract a mate, warn others or blend into their surroundings.

Is hiking on Koh Tao worth the struggle? 👀🌴

Honestly, getting to some of the best viewpoints on Koh Tao can involve a bit of sweating, climbing and questioning your life choices 😂

But the reward is views like this.

This viewpoint on the west coast is just a few minutes from Tanote Peak Viewpoint. If you are staying around Sairee, one of the easiest ways to get there is to walk past Tarna Align and continue towards Two Views.

So… was the hike worth it?

Somewhere along the way we realised that a simple bungalow on Koh Tao for 500 baht a night feels more luxurious to us than a five star hotel ever could.

Waking up steps from the beach, diving every day, sunsets with friends and island life in the Gulf of Thailand somehow became the real definition of luxury.

Sometimes less really is more.

Last week we had something truly special on the east coast of Koh Tao!

We were lucky enough to encounter several Bumphead Parrotfish, a species so rarely seen around here that they are not even included in our local fish identification guide books.

The Bumphead Parrotfish is the largest parrotfish in the world and can grow to over a metre in length. Their powerful beak allows them to bite into coral, helping keep reefs healthy by grazing algae and creating the fine white sand found on many tropical beaches.

Seeing even one is memorable. Seeing several in a week is something we will not forget anytime soon 💙
