The Cutoff (CO) is the position immediately to the right of the Button.

The Lojack (LJ) is the position three seats to the right of the Button, between UTG positions and the Hijack (HJ).

LJ is considered a middle position, where players can begin opening a slightly wider range than UTG while still maintaining discipline.

• More flexibility in post-flop play

The Hijack (HJ) is the position two seats to the right of the Button, between the Lojack (LJ) and the Cutoff (CO).

HJ is considered a late-middle position, allowing you to open a wider range of hands than early positions while still being aware of players behind you.

The Nuts is the best possible hand at any given moment based on the community cards.

No other hand can beat the Nuts unless the board changes on a later street.

• Often wins the largest pots

• The Nuts can change on the Turn or River

UTG (Under the Gun) is the first player to act before the flop, immediately to the left of the Big Blind.

Since every other player acts after you, UTG is considered the most difficult position at the table and usually requires a stronger starting hand selection.

Once you're all-in, you cannot make any further betting decisions unless you have more chips behind.
