21st Asean+ Age Group Chess Championships 2023

The Asean Chess Confederation Executive Council Meeting took place on 25th June 2023 at the Asia Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Traditionally, the meeting is conducted during the Asean+ Age Group Chess Championships where most of the Asean+ leaders are present.

The meeting started with the leaders re-affirming the Asean Chess Confederation - European Chess Union Collaboration to promote chess between the 2 regions and to make the chess community a more vibrant and peaceful one.

The President of the European Chess Union, GM Zurab Azmaiparashvili addresed the Council and thanked the Confederation for their efforts in promoting chess in the region. He will share with his colleague in Europe his takeaways and look forwarrd to more viable and exciting collaborations.

For the first time, 2 other associate members, India and New Zealand attended and shared their initiatives at the meeting.
