Continuing the set up used at Everton, playing 2 attacking midfielders, allowed the Bees to completely outplay high flying Sunderland. Thiago adding to more goals to his season. So a couple of records set, Thiago became the all time Brazilian premier highest goal scorer and Bees in 5th place is the highest they have been after August.
Onwards to the FA cup where hopefully we will field a strong enough team to progress to the 4th round. The fans love the FA cup.

The Magpies (Newcastle Utd) flew into The Bees home with a dreadful away record this season. They were hoping to get an easy 3 points but found The Mighty Bees in fine form buzzing all around the pitch.
Newcastle took an undeserved lead with their second shot in the first half. The second half started well with Schade scoring a header following a flick on from a Kayode long throw. Thiago added a second from a penalty and then added the third converting an excellent pass slicing through the Newcastle defence. So Newcastle return home pointless having been stung by The Bees🐝

Hopes were high following the wins against Liverpool Grimsby but the high flying Eagles (Crystal Palace) were just too good for The Bees. Their high press game never allowed The Bees to play their passing style of play. Mateta scored the first from a free kick and an own goal by Collins wrapped up the deserved win for Palace. A poor performance by The Bees😢

Fielding a much changed side from the one that beat Liverpool The Bees were up against the conquerers of Man Utd in the last round. Grimsby have been in fine form and pushing for promotion from league 2 but were no match for The Bees..Mathias Jensen opened up the scoring with a 20 yard shot, Lewis-Potter headed in thd 2nd and Neldon added the 3rd
Carvalho was fouled in the penalty area and then scored the penalty. Finally The Bees captain Collins came on as substitute and wrapped up the scoring heading in the fifth.

An outstanding performance by the mighty Bees to totally outplay the current champions Liverpool. Sticking with the same formation and line up that was successful against West Ham, the Bees dominated the game from the start with Dango scoring after 5 minutes from Kayode's first long throw of the match.
In the 45 minute, Damsgaard's fabulous pass cut through the Liverpool defence in to the path of Schade who calmly beat the goalie. The Bees completed the task with Thiago scoring the third from a penalty.
The score does not reflect how one sided this game was as the Liverpool goalie made two fabulous saves from shots by Damsgaard.

A magnificent performance by the mighty Bees in East London. At last the manager abandoned his defensive line up to an attacking set up which paid dividends for our attack minded players. West Ham were poor but were made to look worse by our very slick passing game. With more clinical finishing we could easily have won 5-0 with Thiago and Schade both hitting the woodwork. The West Ham goalie also defied the Bees with a couple of brilliant saves.
In this form we should not fear playing Liverpool.
WHAT A PERFORMANCE‼️

A disappointing result. The first half was similar to our performance against Fulham with a negative 5-3-2 set up although actually we played 6-3-1. The first time since being in the premier we have failed to get one single touch in our opponents penalty box.
We did well to retrict City to the single goal.
Second half, with a 4-3-3 setup, we were by far the better team but our lack of firepower meant we were unable to score the equaliser we deserved. Yet another example of setting up negatively costing us points. Good performances from Kayode, Collins and Ayer.

What a turnaround from last week. A much better attacking formation of 4-3-3 enabled us to show what we can do..The united goalie made 4 fabulous saves stopping 4 certain goals whilst our goalie saved a poorly taken penalty by Fernandes. Bees were the better side and will now look forward to Man City.
Thiago finally comes to life, scoring the first 2 goals and substitute Jenson scored an absolute screamer for third goal.

😓Possibly the worst performance since joining the premier league. After taking the lead with a good finish by Damsgaard, which was totally against the run of play, we resorted to a 'boot the ball up field' as our tactic devoid of any positive play. Fulham took full advantage of this and totally outplayed us for the rest of the game. Wilson, who seems to enjoy playing against us, scored another beautifully taken goal. The team selection and set up (5-3-2) restricted our attacking options. Tiago, our Brazilian centre forward, has yet to show why we paid so much money for him. Let us hope this was a one off performance.
