The king of Asean basketball fans showing their class🔥🔥
The Filipino fans have showed the world that when it comes to , they will bring up any hate topic, wether it's; racism, transphobia, life threatening, and sensitive political issues to the conversation with out any level of respect, not even realizing would their discriminating actions could goes towards their own Gilas naturalized players.
Calling people "N-word" is unacceptable in universal standards of professional sports, where in this case after they won against Thailand in the gold medal game of 2025 sea games' mens basketball, Filipino fans expresses their anger randomly on any basketball people/athletes/fans of Thailand. Claiming that our home crowd and our players "bullied" their players first during the game, saying all these toxic comments are "fair retaliation" to what Thai athletes and fans did in the final game.

การให้เกียรติกันทางเชื้อชาติและสีผิว เป็นหลักปฏิบัติในโลกกีฬาที่เป็นที่ยอมรับและให้ความสำคัญโดยทั่วไปตามหลักสากล
หลังจากเหตุการณ์ที่บาสไทยเอาชนะอินโดไปได้แบบสูสีและมีจังหวะการตัดสินที่ค่อนข้างคาใจแฟนทีมฝั่งแพ้ ทำให้มีความเห็นในโลกออนไลน์มากมายที่ไม่เห็นด้วยกับผลของเกมนี้ มีทั้งการพาดพิงถึงเชื้อสายลูกครึ่งของนักกีฬาไทยที่มีต้นเหตุมาจากการณ์แจ้งกฏควบคุมผู้เล่นโอนสัญชาติอย่างของทางฝ่ายจัดบาสฯไทย ในฐานะเจ้าภาพ ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องปกติของโลกออนไลน์ในสังคมกีฬาที่จะมีแฟนคลับที่ไม่พอใจออกมาแสดงความเห็นเชิงลบ
แต่การแสดงความเห็นในโลกออนไลน์ก็มีทั้งคนที่รู้จักการ “ให้เกียรติ” และคนที่อาจะได้รับการศึกษาเรื่อง Human rights มาได้ไม่เท่ากับคนอื่นๆ จึงอาจจะไม่สามารถแยกแยะได้ว่าการวิจารณ์แบบไหนที่แสดงถึงความ “ไม่เป็นมืออาชีพ” แม้แต่จากคนที่เรียกตัวเองว่าเป็น “Coach" อย่างในกรณีนี้
การใช้คำเหยียดผิวคนเชื้อสายแอฟริกันด้วย "N word" เป็นเรื่องที่ร้ายแรงมากในสังคมกีฬานานาชาติ เพราะเป็นคำที่ “ด้อยค่า” ความเป็นมนุษย์ของบุคคลที่โดนกล่าวหา นักกีฬาหรือทีมงานขององค์กร/สโมสรกีฬาแทบทุกประเภทในประเทศที่สังคมมีความเจริญทางวัฒนธรรมแล้ว หากพบเห็นว่าการแสดงความคิดเห็นออกสื่อด้อยถ้อยคำที่เหยียดเชื้อชาติเช่นนี้ ถือเป็นเรื่องร้ายแรงที่ใหญ่มาก และอาจมีผลกระทบถึงขึ้นหมดอนาคตใน community ของกีฬาอาชีพได้
โค้ชฟุตซอลชาวอินโดนีเซียท่านนี้ เรียกตัวเองว่าเป็น ”ผู้ฝึกสอน“ แต่ยังมีตรรกะความคิดที่ยังเหยียดสีผิวเหยียดเชื้อชาติอย่างชัดเจนต่อนักกีฬาลูกครึ่งไทย จนไม่รู้ว่าตัวเขาเองลืมไปหรือไม่ ว่าในทีมนชาติบาสเกตบอลของอินโดชุดที่มาแข่ง ซีเกมส์ ในไทยครั้งนี้เอง ก็มีนักกีฬาที่มีเชื้อสายแอฟริกันอยู่ในทีมเช่นกัน

Respect Across Race and Skin Color Is a Fundamental Principle in Global Sports
Respect for race and skin color is a universally accepted principle in the world of sports and one that holds significant importance at the international level. Following Thailand’s narrow victory over Indonesia in a closely contested basketball game—one that included several controversial officiating moments—there has been a wave of dissatisfaction from fans of the losing side across online platforms.
Much of the backlash stemmed from frustration over the game’s outcome, particularly amid confusion surrounding Thailand Basketball’s sudden announcement regarding regulations on naturalized players. As is often the case in sports culture, disappointed fans voiced their anger online. However, some reactions crossed a line—specifically those targeting the mixed-race heritage of Thai athletes.
Online commentary inevitably includes both individuals who understand the concept of “respect” and those who may lack sufficient education on human rights. As a result, some fail to distinguish between fair criticism and commentary that reflects unprofessional and unacceptable behavior—even when it comes from individuals who identify themselves as “coaches.”
The use of racial slurs against people of African descent—particularly the “N-word”—is considered extremely serious in international sports communities. Such language "dehumanizes" the individuals it targets. In professional sports organizations around the world, especially within culturally progressive societies, public expressions involving racist language are treated as major offenses. In many cases, such actions can permanently damage or even end a person’s future within the professional sports community.
In this incident, an Indonesian futsal coach publicly used racially discriminatory language against Thai mixed-race athletes. Despite referring to himself as a “coach,” his comments clearly revealed a mindset rooted in racial prejudice. What makes this even more troubling is the fact that Indonesia’s own national basketball team competing at the SEA Games in Thailand includes players of African descent as well.
We stand in solidarity with both Thai and athletes from every nation participating in this year’s SEA Games. May this incident serve as a powerful reminder and an important lesson on the value of mutual respect. Sports should be a platform that unites people beyond nationality, race, or skin color—not one that amplifies hatred.
Respect must always come first.
