HAPPY BABY vs STIRRUP
Happy Baby Pose (Yang) ☀
🎯 Goal: Stretch inner thighs, open hips
✋🏻 Hands: Grab the edges of the feet (or ankles), gently pulling down
💪 Arms: Elbows bent, engaging slightly to draw knees toward armpits
🦵 Knees: Widened and bent deeply, stacked over ankles or tracking toward the floor
💥 Core/Spine: Core slightly engaged to keep the lower back grounded
🌬 Breathwork: Breath is used to deepen the stretch
⏳ Duration: Held for a short time (5-10 breaths), often as part of a flow
Stirrup Pose (Yin) 🌙
🎯 Goal: Passively release hips, decompresses the sacroiliac (SI) joints and lower back
✋🏻 Hands: Gently hold the backs of thighs, shins, or big toes—no pulling
💪 Arms: Relaxed or lightly resting
🦵 Knees: Naturally fall open with gravity
💥 Core/Spine: Naturally release; allow natural curve in the low back
🌬 Breathwork: Breath is slow and relaxed, supporting stillness and internal awareness
⏳ Duration: Held for several minutes (2-5+), allowing connective tissues to open
