Tightening The Gloves
Narak Kiatruampalangchai has her gloves retied. At low level shows the boxers will have their gloves secured with packing tape, electrical tape, or sometimes nothing at all. The laces can be loosened and the glove will shift on the hand. The strings can be used to scratch the opponent.
Narak fought Thestar at Thepprasit stadium in late December of 2021

Wanchalong PK Saenchai
Always entertaining, Wanchalong rolls up his hand wraps before training. The hard hitter is aging out of the sport but still intends on going at it until he can’t anymore. Most Thai boxers retire in their early 20’s. The training become monotonous. The discipline becomes tiresome. And the opportunities don’t seem as enticing. Wanchalong is 35 and has taken 4 Lumpinee belts and 5 Channel 7 stadium titles.

The Color Commentator
The work of commentating is split into two. There is the play by play analysis and there is the color commentator. Usually the latter is a former fighter or experienced in the game. They are on hand to pepper in the dialogue with real life fight insight. Carnage regularly sits ringside for Lion Fight. He had a successful career in Australia and is particularly well known for his elbows. He teaches out of Rising Song Thai Boxing in Orange County California.

A Story About Stamp Fairtex
We were practicing English.
“Oh weally,” Stamp said.
“No. Really.”
“Weally?”
“No. Rrr. Rrrr. Really.”
”Oh… Weally.”
A little girl and her parents walked by. I saw them out of the corner of my eye. They were checking out the rest of the gym.
“Weally.”
“Okay, let’s move on,” I said. “How do you feel about your upcoming fight?”
“I’ve trained so hard.”
“Koh tot krap,” the parents said. They’d come back. The father looked a little sheepish. The little girl was behind his legs. She was 7 or 8. “Tham tai luup dai mai.”
Stamp smiled and nodded.
The mother pushed the little girl forward. She was shy but began to smile. It was a sheepish grin, like when you feel so happy inside you can’t contain it. Stamp squatted down to her level. The father took her photo.
“Kob khun krap,” the father said.
The girl ran over and looked at the father’s phone. Her smile grew wider. Stamp waved. The little girl began to bounce up and down. She was exploding with joy, she’d gotten a photo with Stamp.
“That was cool,” I said to Stamp as the family walked away.
“Really cool,” she said.
“Our heroes should be that when kids put posters up in their bedrooms, their parents fully embrace it… it’s about values, not just kicking and punching.” – Chatri Sityodtong
It’s been two years. Stamp went on to win the Grand Prix belt and is going on to fight Angela Lee for the ONE atomweight belt on March 23rd.
But still I think about that moment. It’s really stuck with me. Seeing how much someone could be inspired was amazing. Maybe, that little girl’s life won’t change, but maybe, just maybe, this was something more. That’s what I choose to believe. That a small moment like a photo can change a person’s life. That’s why I made these prints. To inspire. To motivate. Because even the smallest of moments can change your life.
Stamp and I have made a limited run of 15 signed prints. Only six are left for sale.
If you are interested in getting one, supporting Stamp Fairtex, and creating a moment of inspiration send me a direct message.

The fight ISN’T won or lost far away from witnesses. It’s not in the gym. It’s not under the bright lights. The real battle is in the athlete.
