BISAL proudly hosted our 3rd Annual Athletic Directors Meeting, bringing together Athletic Directors, coaches, and school leaders from across Bangkok’s international school community.
What began just two years ago as an idea to create more meaningful athletic opportunities for smaller international schools has continued to grow into something truly special. Today, BISAL includes 25 international schools united by a shared commitment to student-athletes, sportsmanship, and educational athletics.
The annual meeting was an important opportunity for member schools to collaborate on the continued growth and direction of the conference. Discussions focused on conference operations, finances, scheduling, and the overall vision for the upcoming academic year. We are also excited to officially welcome three new schools into the BISAL community as we continue to expand.
A special thank you to SISB Nonthaburi and Athletic Director Gonzalo Peña for hosting and helping run such a successful event. We would also like to thank all BISAL Chair Committee members Swapnil S. Pawar RAIS, Casey Mizzone, MYIS, Gonzalo Peña SISB- NR, Ryan Toal TSI and Tony Ortiz BASIS for their continued hard work and commitment to the conference throughout the year.
Additionally, BISAL would like to officially welcome our newest BISAL Chair members, Jamie Williams of BASIS International School Bangkok and Raha Mortel of Rumarudee International School Ratchapruek Campus. We are excited to have them join the leadership team as BISAL continues to grow.
What makes BISAL unique is the sense of partnership and community that has developed among our schools. Different programs, backgrounds, and school communities continue to come together with one common goal: creating positive and meaningful experiences for students through
Thank you to all of the Athletic Directors, coaches, administrators, and Heads of School for your continued support, collaboration, and belief in what BISAL represents. The future of the conference is incredibly exciting, and we are only beginning to scratch the surface of what this league can become.

This past Saturday marked another milestone for the Bangkok International Schools Athletic League (BISAL) as the organization expanded beyond athletics and into academic competition with the first annual BISAL Model United Nations Conference. BISAL continues to grow as a community where students can challenge themselves through both sports and intellectual pursuits, building leadership, collaboration, and global awareness.
The inaugural conference was hosted by Roong Aroon International School (RAIS). A special thank you goes to RAIS, Athletic Director Swapnil Pawar, and
RAIS MUN coordinator Russell Sharp for organizing and hosting such a thoughtful and engaging event.
Schools represented at the conference included ICSN, REPS, TSIS, RIS-R, MYIS, SISB-NR, and the host school RAIS. Throughout the day, students engaged in thoughtful and challenging debates on global issues, demonstrating impressive research, diplomacy, and collaboration skills while drafting resolutions and negotiating solutions.
We are especially proud of all the BISAL MUN students who participated. Their commitment to respectful dialogue, critical thinking, and international-mindedness reflects the spirit of BISAL and the future leaders within our schools.
