🍿🍿 This week's double feature is a titanesque session showing The Seven Samurai (1954) by Akira Kurosawa at 6pm and followed by The Magnificent Seven (1960) by John Sturges.
🎥 An EPIC Sunday ahead.

🍿🍿 This week's double-feature are science-fiction movies that radically differ stylistically but tell the same story.
🏴 🐒 Starting with Chris Marker's "La Jetée" (1963) followed by Terry Gilliam's "12 Monkeys" (1995).
Although La Jetée is less than 30 minutes long, it has inspired may moving image creators and is probably the first in the genre depicting protagonists travelling into time-loops.
🎥 Two completely different features, one short and the other long, one in black and white and the other in color, one shot in still pictures and the filmed, this Sunday packs film d'auteur and action vibes.
Starting at 7pm.

👯♀️ This week’s double-feature goes across continents.
⛩ “Yojimbo” (1961) by Akira Kurosawa with Toshiro Mifune tells the story of a lone samurai who arrives in small town torn by the rivalry between two clans. Not sure which side to work for, as they are both despicable, he finally settles for one - find out why and what drives him to do so. Mifune delivers a stellar performance as a skilled, disenchanted and unshaven samurai as lethal as vulnerable as a man can be armed with his sword against a horde of killers. Amazing shots by the master Japanese director who will inspirer Sergio Leone to film his own western version “For A Fistful of Dollars”, almost scene-to-scene.
🌵 “For A Fistful of Dollars” is the western spaghetti remake of Yojimbo. More colorful but same ambiance as in a godforsaken town where a very fragile equilibrium between two opposing clans are kept possible by the pusillanimity of each leader. Amazing music by the late Sergio Leone.
