Hi to all roll up members, and a special welcome to Banyan Golf Club’s new members.

Last Sunday we returned to the course with 23 players taking part and the results are as below. This coming Sunday is the Club Championship and the roll up will be back on the 20th and 27th December.

A very special New Year 2021 Roll Up has been arranged for the 3rd January as per the attached “flyer” which gives all the details of entering. Registration for this 4-player team event (Texas Scramble) is via Banyan Golf Club and NOT via True Handicap in this instance and it’s a good idea to get your teams entered asap. Guests are welcome at the special 1600 baht green fee guest rate…..but no professionals please!!

Obviously, no notification of a game this Sunday but lets all stay positive and look forward to our return and the possibility of the biggest and best Banyan Members roll up ever!! Watch this space.
Well last week 21 players attended on a lovely day with the wind ensuring no easy play…..unless your name is Bea of course who managed 40 points in the week before her birthday!

One other historical note was the first ever “Eagle” for junior member Max Emanuel playing off the 3rd hole white tee…..well done Max and the first of many no doubt!.....and so good to see the name of Brian Hilton on the winners board with an age gap over Max of about 75 years !

Hi everyone,

The transition over to the new “Banyan Members Roll Up” group on True Handicap seems to have proceeded pretty well although around 10 members have still to confirm your acceptance to join via response to the True Handicap e mail. We have over 20 players enrolled via this new method for this Sunday and to remain part of the “Banyan Members Roll Up “group it will help greatly if you enroll via the original True Handicap e mail invitation.

The ongoing Coronavirus situation will continue to impact upon our lives for some considerable time and the administration of the roll up will be 100% dictated by the policies issued by the Banyan Golf Club.

Common sense says we should all protect ourselves as much as possible and I for one will not be shaking hands or kissing anyone at future prize presentations. The Thai Wai seems a perfect way to show respect and thanks for our time on the golf course.

Results from last week are as follows with a good turnout of 26 players ensuring another enjoyable Sunday, with star performer Supinda collecting 42 points for the second week running.

Please do not forget that you are now using your published True Handicap Index to obtain your Playing Handicap in accordance with the World Handicap system. This should therefore be checked before play in each game via the “shots on the day” feature on True Handicap and used as the handicap written on your scorecard. All handicaps will be checked via computer entered scoring which I hope to introduce this Sunday.

Last week was very special and I believe we all enjoyed the hospitality and generosity of Khun Nicolette and Khun Ella in celebrating their 60th birthdays !

I thank them on behalf of us all and we look forward to the next notable birthday celebration in Mulligan’s! (Any volunteer’s)

“Happy Birthday” was sung in eight different languages and something of a first that I am sure will be repeated and maybe beaten !! An international karaoke complete with a much appreciated microphone.
The better ball pairs format was keenly contested and despite the lady’s tees being set to scorecard length it was a lady pairing that won the day. Congratulations to Gift Stitt and Aoy Brighton !!
