After hypnotherapy, it's not that the trigger disappears, or that you'll never encounter the thing again, but when you do, the brain simply doesn't run the same programme it's been running your whole life.
The pattern gets interrupted and there's a gap where the panic response used to automate. It doesn't necessarily mean you'll feel nothing.
Lital described being more confused by her own calm than by the snake itself. That confusion is actually the sign that a neural pathway has genuinely reorganised — the brain expected one thing, got another, and had to update its model of what's possible and survivable.
That's a whole different relationship with your own resilience. Once you've survived the "worst case scenario" and felt okay on the other side of it, how you move through the world also shifts. Not just around snakes, but everywhere that old fears used to set the terms.

There's a misconception that hypnosis is something that happens TO you. Someone waves a watch, you go under, and you come out changed.
But listen to what my client, Lital, actually says here, "I chose to stop being controlled by this fear."
She discovered that the moment she chose differently, everything changed. The hypnosis didn't do it to her, it gave her the conditions to do it herself.
She has a doctorate in psychology. She's studied the mind professionally. And she still lived her whole life unable to walk through a field, through her own childhood neighbourhood without fear running the show.
Two sessions later, she's talking about infinity and all the possibilities that are now open to her. About freedom.
That's what this work actually is, a space where you remember that you get to choose.
If a phobia has been running your life, it's worth watching the whole testimonial on YouTube. (The QR code at the end actually directs to my website rather than the youtube video, but you can find it in the link in my bio)
My client has a doctorate in psychology, but couldn't shake her debilitating lifelong snake phobia.
I did two hypnosis sessions with her a year ago. What transpired afterwards was nothing short of shocking.

One of the skills I teach is how to expand your capacity to stay present for 90 seconds of emotional intensity without immediately reaching for a distraction, a substance, a reassurance, a reaction, or another thought to throw on the fire.
Sounds simple huh? Well, in fact it is simple, and yet most people don't know how, or haven't trained themselves to do this repetitively.
Every craving, compulsion or anxious state you've ever experienced has ended. Everything moves. Everything changes.
Freedom begins with discovering that you can survive 90 seconds.

The 'wellness' industry is very good at creating identities to inhabit:
Anxiously attached. Avoidant. Traumatised. Neurodivergent. Highly sensitive. Enneagram 4. People Pleaser. Wounded inner child.
These frameworks can help someone make sense of an experience and bring compassion to places that have long been misunderstood. But at some point, the explanation can (and often does) become your identity.
We can either use the story to find freedom and or use it to justify why we can't be free. The deeper question is "Who is this 'I' that keeps trying to define itself?"
Liberation isn't found in becoming a better understood self, it's found in seeing *through* the illusion that the self we are endlessly studying is as solid and fixed as we imagined.

Worry and overthinking feels productive to the brain.
It feels like preparation, problem-solving, or staying one step ahead of disaster.
But actually it's simply the predictive brain trying to find certainty in a world that offers none.
When you begin to clearly see the mechanisms of the brain, you stop taking it all so personally and telling yourself the story of your brokenness or malfunctioning. And that's where real freedom begins.
I will be teaching you how to get free from all unnecessary anxiety and overthinking in my 6 week live zoom program “Unlearning the Habit of Anxiety and Compulsive Thinking” in July 2026. Register by clicking the link in my bio.
Most people cannot describe their experience using ONLY sensation words because our brains have been wired to infer meaning onto our experience immediately - and this stimulates the salience network of the brain.
So I provide my clients with a worksheet containing all the sensation words so that they can practice tuning into and describing their expereince. This literally changes your brain.
The salience network is essentially the brain's relevance filter. It's constantly scanning your internal and external environment and deciding what's important enough to pay attention to. It's what makes a sound in the dark feel threatening, or a mild physical sensation feel significant when you're anxious.
The appraisal and meaning-making you assign to a sensation increases the distress or emotional weight of a sensation, which affects how threatening it feels, increasing the intensity of the expereince.
I can help you get free from unnecessary suffering, as I’ve helped many hundreds of others. If you'd like my sensation words worksheet comment WORKSHEET below and I'll send it to you.

I was 16 when scary, intrusive thoughts began to plague my nights. 21 when the first panic attack started. Anxiety caused my physical health to deteriorate, leading to mysterious chronic pain conditions that had no obvious structural cause. I suffered tremendously for another 17 years.
For most people, the fear of the next panic attack becomes worse than the panic itself, and then weaves its way into ones identity.
For me, eventually the suffering became so unbearable that I resolved to spend the rest of my life studying to understand the 'technology of the mind', i.e. how the brain, the mind, thought, emotions and consciousness work.

Someone who just watched it commented, "This was beautifully articulated. I just finished watching this and although I know a fair bit about how to regulate my own anxiety and life experiences from my own learnings over the years, I learned tons more from watching this and it's always wonderful to be reminded. You're an incredible teacher and it doesn't surprise me that you have a book full of amazing testimonials. I hope you keep sharing as you do. The world needs it."

Not throwing shade here - I've definitely been exhausting to love at various times of my life, when I tried to outsource love from other people - instead of doing the hard work of loving myself.
We come by this kind of relational f**kery, innocently. But it's important that we unlearn these unconscious manipulations.
Because truly loving yourself, that's where the real gold lies.
