Finding Nemo 👀 and pretending I knew where he was 🤫

Diving a different part of a dive site today that I wasn't totally familiar with.

The visibility wasn't great and there was a bit of a cheeky sideways current. You know the type, not exactly strong but enough to throw you off course if you don't have a visual reference.

Anyhoo, I find myself swimming in a barren sand patch with no coral reef, and no other dive groups in sight trying to get my bearings with my compass. My guests looking at me like "Is he f*king lost?"

Then there they was, plonked in the middle of nowhere a clownfish family. I turn to my guests like "Ta-Daaa", as if I knew exactly where I was and that I showed them a secret spot.

Back on the boat my guests asked "We was wondering if you was lost, but you knew they where there right?"

Now I'm not the type to let the facts get in the way of a good story, so I gratefully played along...

"Yeah of course mate, it's a secret spot away from the reef. So not many divers actually get to see them".

Once I found the reef (which actually wasn't far away), I noted my depth, and reciprocal heading so hopefully I can find them again... on purpose this time 🤣
