A lot of new people have found this page recently.

So here is a little bit about what I'm actually doing here...

My name is Dan ... obviously 😅

I've been documenting my fishing adventures for just over a year now.

From cold wet sessions in the depths of winter here in the UK

To chasing big carp abroad

And fishing for species I never imagined catching in Thailand

Some sessions are incredible!

Some are a complete disaster!

And occasionally ... something happens that gets 150k people taking 🫣

But that's life.

And that's fishing.

I'll always share the good, the bad and everything in between.

Despite having 2 fish in the morning from peg 2 (after a quiet 24 hours)

Something about peg 1 was calling me 👀

It's only 20 yards down the lake, but openes up the whole of the far corner.

I hadn't even seen any signs to tempt me there...

I moved my rods and minimal kit across... 🎣

What a decision that was!

Within half an hour I had a 30+ common and a small mirror.

3 hours in, another 28lb mirror and lost one.

Then .... came the Don

A 48lb common, that you may recognise as the face of Where’s The Fish with Dan

My gut feeling had paid off handsomely 🙌

But still no 50+

Day 4 of Les Saisons Carp Lake 2025 🎣

With the session building nicely, and several amazing fish already banked 🐳

Day 4 bought me crashing back down to earth!

No fish, zero, blank.

What to do next?

Well, despite the next morning providing 2 nice fish of 39lb and 24lb, my mind was set...

A move was on the cards 👀

This time next week… 🇫🇷🎣

After a long wait, we're heading back to the beautiful Les Saisons Carp Lake

Day 1 & 2 — A very good start…

After much deliberation, spot finding and the inevitable disturbance of setting up camp for a week, I eventually settled into Peg 2.

With all the commotion of the first day, I wasn't expecting too much that first night.

But the lake had other ideas…

A rather lovely 24lb 10oz zip-linear rewarded the effort on the first evening.

Then Sunday morning brought another two fish — a knarly looking mirror of 21lb 8oz...

And a crinkly old 28lb 4oz Mirror

Three fish in the first couple of days.

The spots were working. The tactics were working. And it was looking like we could be in for a very good week…

But there was one fish I had travelled 500 miles to find.

A 50lb+ French Common...

A short story 👇

Dad and I spent the morning in the Arapaima swim with 2 rods between us.

We decided to alternate fish, rather than having a rod each.

We ordered breakfast, I finished my food first.

While dad was still eating, a screaming take 🎶

Dad says "you have it mate, im still eating"....

The result. This huge Arapaima! 🐳

I will never forget the moment it surfaced for the first time 👀

Or the look on dad's face after it went in the net 😁
