Tournament results update!
20th May 2023
SCOTT is our Champion!
🎉👏Congratulations to all the winners of the recently concluded, our first KHAOTALO CUE POOL HALL 9 BALL OPEN TOURNAMENT. It was a great and fantastic day seeing the best players fighting out, test their skills battling it out for supremacy. But the day goes to our champion Scott Cooney from England. After getting a bye in the round 1 draw(lucky fella). He started his 2nd game with a hill hill defeat in the hands of a tough Swiz guy player. But it didn't stop him ,after getting again a walkover next round (lucky fella once more). He followed it up winning two consecutive matches with convincing victories beating 3-0 both of them and qualified for the top 16 knockout stage.
Top 16 unveiled:
After a grueling and intense preliminary match. The top 16 were revealed. Eight coming from the winners side without losing any matches (Jack Thai, Oliver Downey, Bas Wisaingam , Denis Grabe, Adel Mohmood, Carmax Carmax Kit V, Craig Jones and Preecha)
Losers side: ( Scott Cooney , Ike Runnels , Glenn Phua, Nam Jones, Tanut Makkamontree (Pipe), Patrick Benali , , Danny T, Jamie Brooks )
From here on it was trimmed down to our 8 quarter finalist (Scott Cooney, Jamie Brooks, Adel, Bas, Preecha, Nam Jones, Kit, Denis Grabe). Our champion qualified after beating another tough player considered the money game king Jack Thai.
Semi- finalist
(Scott Cooney, Denis Grabe, Kit V, Nam)
After another great quarter final matches. Seeing most of the game went into hill hill matches. The final 4 players came on top and rose for a bigger and tougher challenge. The first semi-final match was between world class and tough caliber players from Estonia (Denis Grabe) against Scott Cooney. As expected the two went to a last rack battle as they even they score after 4 racks. After a toe-to-toe battle, Scott came on top beating Denis Grabe and booked the first seat into the Final Round. On to the next match, CarMax also known as Kit by most of the players moved into the final round, defeating Nam Jones another tough caliber player who was a bronze medalist from the last edition of South East Asian Games.
The Final Round
Scott vs Kit
Finishing the night , after some intense and dramas the two players came on top and battled it out for the crown being the 1st KHAOTALO CUE 9 BALL OPEN TOURNAMENT . Kit started well winning the first rack and proved he deserved to be in the final against a higher rank player. Going to the next rack, Scott established himself and regain his composure settling the score this time. And after that it went well to our Champion showing his experience , better skills as his handicap shows. He defeated Kit in the final 6-3. Kudos to our 2nd placer proving his worth and showing to everyone that even lower handicap players can withstood with higher handicap players.
Complete list of winners:
Champion: Scott Cooney (20,000 baht)
2nd place: CarMax (Kit V) (10,000 baht)
