Eastern Star - Stableford

Our last game before our annual trip to Hua Hin next week and we have 17 out with 16 in the comp and the cut was 4.1 - 17.2 (7) and 22.2 + (9) and two scores of 37 come in for both divisions and Marty Rock 16 wins division 1 with Shaun O'Gorman 6 in second place one point behind and with a countback of 20/17 Bill Bertram 11 beats Pierre Batardon 21 on a 20/17 back nine countback.

Markku Tynell 35 is the winner in division 2 with Steve Holman 27 coming in second on 35 and with only one player off the yellow tees today Steve Parsons 31 comes in 3rd with 31 points.

A record today for Jomtien golf with eight near pins up for grabs and only one winner, Bill Bertram in div 1 on the 6th and only one two for Joe Peters in div 2 who chips in from off the green on the 17th.

Bonus points today were 100, 50 and 30 and 30 for the two.

On our return it is Khaeo Kheow on Monday, Treasure Hill on Wed and Eastern Star on Friday.

Wednesday 6th May

Pleasant Valley - Stableford

Another small field out today with 13 in the comp so only one division and the rating for the tees was Blue at 130 and White at 118. Neil Gamble 12b takes podium position with 35 points and Laurent Berger 26b comes in second two points behind and Shaun O'Gorman 4b is 3rd with 32 and in 4th place with 31 points is Ken Miller 15w.

There were no two's today and the near pins were Neil Gamble and Shaun O'Gorman off the blue tees and Glyn Evans and Ken Miller off the white.

Bonus points today were 100, 80, 50 and 35 and an enjoyable round here with some very slow greens and this was on every hole.

Monday 4th May

Mountain Shadow - Stableford

The low season has kicked in now so the numbers are diminishing and today is a public holiday and the course chosen is not everyone's favourite so we have 9 out with 8 in the comp and only one division.

Remy Maeder 32b is the winner beating Matt Griffin 9b on a 16/13 back nine countback after two scores of 32 come in and there is only one two today for Matt Griffin 9 on the 17th and in the near pins Bill Bertram and Matt Griffin off the blue tees and Glyn Evans off the white.

The course has slightly Improved, the fairways are still very dry and the greens very slow but in reasonable condition throughout the round.

Bonus points were 90 and 40 and 25 in the two's.

Friday 1st May

Eastern Star - Stableford

As we go through the toll gate on the motorway horrendous rain hits us and this lasts all the way to the course and just ends as we approach the clubhouse. We are all waiting in the pro shop for a decision and the weather is improving and all 21 are going out.
A strange cut today of 8.8 -17.2 (6) and 21.2 + (15) in the two divisions and with 39 points Bill Bertram 12 wins division 1 with Marc Brunner14 coming in second on 31 points beating Frank Kelly 21 and Lance Anderson 21 on a 16/16/14 and 11/11 6/6 4/4 and 2/1 countback. Steve Holman 27 wins division 2 with 36 and one point behind is Tom Carmody 34 and then two 33's come in and with a countback 19/18 Remy Maeder 34 beats
Steve Parsons 32y.
There was over an hour wait on the first tee as all of the groups in front of us had been delayed with the heavy rain but a perfect round for us with a sunny round throughout.
Only one two today for Steve Holman 27 on the 17th in division 2 and near pins were Laurent Berger, Bill Bertram, Brian Keating and Ron McClung off the white tees and no winners off the yellow.
Bonus points were Div 1. 100 and 45 and Div 2, 100, 80, 60 and 40 and 40 in the
two's today.
Next week is Mountain Shadow on Monday, a public holiday (1650 all in ) and Pleasant Valley on Wednesday.

Pattana - Stableford

We have five groups out today and we are playing the B and C nines with the cut at 8.1 -17.7 (10) and 18.6 + (9). Marc Brunner 13 returns the best score of the day winning division 1 with 39 points Lance Anderson 20 comes in second one point behind and Matt Griffin 10 comes in third with 35. Steve Parsons 33y takes podium position in division 2 with 37 points and then with two scores of
33 coming in Markku Tynell beats Paul Renall on a 18/14 back nine countback. The course here today was in good condition but all the greens were very slow, the first time we have encountered this for a long time.

Three two's in division 1 Marc Brunner and Matt Griffin on B7 and Pete Sumner on B3.

Near pins were Div 1. Marc Brunner, Bengt Engstrom, Matt Griffin and Pete Sumner and Div 2. Glyn Evans and Paul Renall. Bonus points today were 80, 50, 30 and 20 in the two's.

Plutaluang - Stableford

It is the North and West nines today and we have 20 out with the fairest cut at 7.4 - 17.1 (11) and 17.6 + (9) and with division 1 off the white tees with the rating at 132 and division 2 a choice of white or yellow only one player off the yellow at ‪120. 40‬ points is the best score of the day with Steve Dixon 26 winning division 2 and then three scores of 34 come in and with a countback of 20/15/13 Frank Stockton 29 comes in for second place and Paul Renall 23 is third and Tom Carmody 28y
loses out . 37 points wins division 1 for Keith Woolley 19 and Shane Tutton 19 comes in second one point behind and Jim Vonder 10 is 3rd with 35 points. An enjoyable round here with pick, clean and place on the fairways and the bunkers as well here.

Only one two today for Jim Vonder in div 1 on N6 and near pins were Div 1. Bill Bertram, Pete Sumner, Shane Tutton and Jim Vonder. Div 2 Tom Carmody, Steve Holman (2) and Paul Renall.

Bonus points today were 80, 60, 35 and 30 for the two.

Eastern Star - Stableford

The low season has just kicked in and only seven groups out today and the cut was 9.9 - 19.1 (12) and in division 2, 21.2 + (13). 41 points is the best score of the day with Brian Keating 20 taking podium position in division 1, Bill Bertram 13 is second on 39 and with 38 points Nik Evans 18 is third and Frank Kelly 21 finishes fourth with 36 points. Steve Dixon 27 wins division 2 with 38 and then three scores of 36 come in and with a countback of 21/18/16 Tom Carmody 35 is 2nd Remy Maeder 34 is 3rd and Markku Tynell 35 is 4th.

There were only two players off the yellow
tees today and not in the reckoning.

There was only one two today and Tom Carmody birdies the 3rd in division 2 and near pins were Div 1. Pierre Batardon, Marc Brunner and Nik Evans and Div 2. Tom Carmody and Steve Holman.

Only 13 out today so just one division and the majority are playing off the white tees with the rating at138 and two scores of 38 come in and with a back nine countback of 22/21 Frank Stockton 31 beats Bill Bertram 13 and then one point behind in 3rd place is Jim Vonder 10 and Bob Comartin 22 comes in 4th with 36 points. A pleasant round here today with a slight drizzle on two holes and some of the greens quite slick and a few quite wolley and slow.
In the two's today Bill Bertram and Frank Stockton both on the 6th and in the near pins Paul Renall and Jim Vonder off the white tees.

Burapha - Stableford

We are playing the C and D nines today and with only 18 out the cut was 7.6 - 16.2 (8) and 17.1 + (10) and everyone is playing off the white tees with the rating at ‪127. 42‬ points is the best score of the day with Lance Anderson 18 taking podium position in division 2 and then two scores of 36 come in and with a countback 21/16 Bob Comartin 19 beats John Doyle 29. Another two scores of 36 come in for division 1 and with a back nine countback of 21/20 Pete Sumner 12 beats Bengt Engstrom 17 and with 35 points Joe Pethes 7 is 3rd.

Near pins today were Div 1. Joe Pethes (3) and Pete Sumner and Div 2. Lance Anderson (2) and Pierre Batardon and in the two's Joe Pethes on D2 and Lance Anderson on C8.

Bonus points today were 70, 50 and 25 and 30 in the two's.

A very hot round here today but an enjoyable game with the course in good condition with a few very slow greens.
