AIT Cricket Club would like to thank AIT Student Union, SU President, and SU Campus and Environment Team for providing budget to the club for this semester. We are thankful and appreciate the support provided to the team.

AIT Cricket Club played their 8th and 9th match of Bangkok Cricket League against RBSC CC at RBSC Sports Ground and BCC at RBSC Sports Ground and AIT Ground on 13th and 20th March respectively.

For the match against RBSC CC, RBSC CC won the toss and elected to bat first. RBSC CC started innings well but soon AIT CC bowled good line and length to restrict them. Aditya Metta and Janith Hirosha Gallege bowled superb spells to pick three early wickets and were well supported by Satendra Shakya. In middle overs, spinners Lakshay Shah and Mishkat Ullah bowled well to contain runs and kept picking wickets at regular intervals, they were also well supported by Krishna Krish who picked a wicket as well. In the end, the opponent got all out for 105 in 24.1 overs.
While chasing AIT CC continued their good batting performance where Pratyush Das and Anirudh Thorbole put on a partnership of 105 runs to finish the game. Anirudh Thorbole continuing his good form scored the bulk of the runs i.e 61(34). In the end, AIT CC chased down the target in 10.2 overs with 9 wickets to spare.

AIT's bowling performance:
Aditya Metta: 3/9 in 5 overs
Janith Hirosha Gallege: 2/5 in 3.1 overs
Mishkat Ullah: 2/26 in 5 overs
Lakshay Shah, Krishna Krish, and Satendra Shakya picked one wicket each.

AIT's batting performance:
Anirudh Thorbole: 61(34)
Pratyush Das: 36*(28)

Anirudh Thorbole was declared Man of the Match for his excellent knock.

For the match against BCC, BCC won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first AIT started well and watchfully with the opening pair putting on a partnership of 33 in 4 overs. Soon there was a flurry of quick wickets and AIT CC was not able to recover. There was some resistance by our batsman by not for long. Due to the lack of any good partnership and bad shot selection by AIT CC as well as disciplined and good bowling by the opponent AIT CC could only manage 61 runs in 14 overs. While chasing the opposition chased down the target in just 4.4 overs. This was the second loss for AIT CC in the BCL league. It was an eye-opening experience, hopefully, will learn from this game and try to come back strong in the next game.

This was the last league game of BCL and now AIT stands 2nd in the table. The top 4 teams will be competing for finals in the upcoming weekends. AIT will be playing qualifying finals against Pattaya CC in the upcoming match on 27th at Pattana Sports Resorts.

AIT Cricket Club played both the matches with good commitment and spirit. AIT Cricket Club would also like to thank AIT's Covid 19 Task Force for the kind support and permission to allow visitors to play cricket in AIT.
