🎊 Post-worlds congratulations to our Hammerheads athletes and coach for repping Team Canada at the 16th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships earlier this month in Thailand! You all killed it and and we're pretty darn proud ❤️

No one really knew who we were going in, and it's okay if they still don't. TNPC has always been about improving ourselves, especially when things get hard. These photos don't capture all of the sacrifice and hard work from each individual that travelled to Florida, and we want to thank and acknowledge all people who have supported everyone on all our crews for letting us pursue our passion.

Nathan Benderson Park is now officially free of Shark-infested waters 🦈. Thank you for having us, Sarasota.

What a weekend! Could not have done this without the love and support of the entire family. A lot of emotions running through all our heads but the biggest emotion we feel? Gratitude. A lot of trials and tribulations have brought us to a point we used to dream of and we're glad that a lot of hard work and dedication paid off at the 34th Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival.

We've waited two years throughout the pandemic to pick up where we left off; we got to work where it counts and we're excited to know we have a lot more left in the tank. No matter what, we've always aimed to let our paddling do the talking.

🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃

Rules: Submit a PHOTO and NAME of your carved pumpkin to the google form listed below. Entries are NOW $5 each. Pumpkins can be whatever you wish to showcase- scary, funny, unique, be any size and color! Pumpkins are judged based on creativity, theme, attention to detail, and overall aesthetic by 3 of our very own judges on the evening of the 31st, through an optional fun and live Zoom panel session. Top overall pumpkin will be announced and prized at the end of the night! And please be safe while carving. Everyone is welcome to participate!

On June 18, 2020, we lost a great coach, leader and friend, Adrian Taylor. Adrian was the coach of the Hammerheads from 2001-2009, establishing the Hammerheads as an amazing sprinting team, with many top 5 finishes to his name.
Adrian was affectionately known to us as “Darth Vader”. He was intimidating to meet at first, as he was the strong, silent type, but he was very patient and invested in our development. If you bought into his workout program, he would ensure your success. He wasn’t the type of coach to flatter you with compliments but with few words, he spoke volumes and you knew when you had his approval.
Our beloved former coach used to make us do chin-ups before and after practice; love it or hate it, we did them. He brought an edge and intensity to the team that many of us never experienced before. The work ethic on our team was well established by Adrian; planting the seeds in becoming a great competitive dragon boat team.

He was fiercely loyal to the Hammerheads, and many thought of him as a second father and a great friend to share a beer with. We will never forget his commitment to the team and from those that he taught, we will cherish him in our hearts.

On behalf of all Hammerheads, former executives and alumni, we would like to offer our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences to his wife Catherine MacInnes and the Taylor family. He will be missed dearly. His contributions to the team will never be forgotten.
