Soul Sister Stretches — Part 2 🤍

This little sequence combines assisted mobility, gentle partner support and a little nervous-system downshift.

Here’s what we’re working with:

Assisted Figure Four — hip release

Start lying comfortably on your back with one ankle crossed over the opposite thigh.

Your partner gently supports the legs and helps guide the stretch. Think steady support rather than pulling.

Keep the spine relaxed and let the intensity stay around the outer hip/glute rather than forcing the knee towards the floor.

Child’s Pose + Gentle Back Massage

Come into Child’s Pose and allow your partner to work gently across the muscles of the back.

This isn’t about digging in or finding the deepest pressure possible. Think broad, slow and soothing.

Let the breath become slower as the body begins to open.

Gentle Sacral Support

With your partner in Child’s Pose, a gentle, steady contact over the sacrum can provide a grounding sensation.

Keep the pressure light and centred over the broad, bony sacral area NOT the lumbar spine.

Always communicate. Ask: “Is this comfortable? More, less or stop?”

Assisted Butterfly

Come into Butterfly with the soles of the feet together.

Your partner can gently help external rotation of the femurs with the heel of their hands or provide light assistance from behind while you focus on relaxing the inner thighs.

Don’t force the knees towards the floor.
Let the hips open gradually with the breath.

And that’s really the magic of partner stretching: focusing on communication, trust, support and learning to listen to your body. 🤍

Save this for your next stretch date / girls’ yoga session / soul sister catch up and send it to the person you’d love to try it with.

Part 1 + Part 2 = your little partner stretching sequence. ✨

You can train your body to perform.
You also have to teach it how to recover.

This is one of the things I love about working with athletes.

When you’re constantly training, competing, travelling, pushing through fatigue and asking your body to perform at a high level, recovery can’t only mean “take a day off.”

Sometimes the body needs an opportunity to downshift.

This session was with a professional MMA fighter preparing for an upcoming UFC qualifier. I won’t share details that aren’t mine to share, but she was also navigating some physical discomfort.

And this is where I believe the whole body approach matters.

Reiki isn’t a replacement for physiotherapy, medical treatment or rehabilitation and I don’t use it to diagnose or treat injuries.

Instead, Reiki used as a complementary practice creates space for deep relaxation, stillness and body awareness.

🤔 Your physical load affects your nervous system.
🤔 Your stress affects how you experience your body.
🤔 Your ability to rest affects how you recover.
🤔 And your emotional state can influence how safe or settled you feel in your body.

Pain and recovery don’t happen in isolation. Everything is connected.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your body is stop asking it to perform.

Just breathe.
Receive.
Let go.

Save this for the next time you need the reminder:

You don’t have to earn rest.

And if you’re curious about how Reiki could complement your own recovery, wellbeing or movement practice, follow me and send me a DM.

The thing about “tight hips” is sometimes your hip isn’t asking for another stretch.

It’s asking for better control.

With this client, we started by looking at his ankle mobility because that was clearly affecting his squat and lowerbody movement. As his range improved, we started to see the next layer: one side of his pelvis and hip wasn’t controlling certain positions as well as the other.

That’s why I don’t just give you a list of stretches and call it mobility work.

I want to know why your body is choosing the movement strategy it is.

❓Can you access the range?
❓Can you control it?
❓Can you breathe through it?
❓Can you actually use it when you move?

Because forcing into a position once is very different from teaching your body that it can be safe that position.

This client has been really consistent with his program and the difference in his ankle mobility and squat has already improved. Now we’re working further up the chain: pelvis, hips and trunk.

If you constantly feel:
→ tight on one side
→ restricted in certain movements
→ like stretching helps temporarily but the tightness/ limitations keeps coming back
→ or like your body just doesn’t move as smoothly as it should…

Maybe you don’t need to stretch or do hot yoga. Maybe you need to understand what’s actually limiting you.

That’s the work I do in 1:1 mobility sessions.

My next client intake opens mid-September.
If you’ve been thinking “I really need to sort this out” then this is your sign. 👀

‼️ My approach is NOT a quick fix, it’s a journey and it requires commitment AND consistency.

If this sounds like your style, reach out and let’s see if we’re the right fit.

Crow isn’t just about getting your feet off the floor — it’s about where you put your weight once they’re up. 🐦‍⬛

A few cues that make a BIG difference for a more stable Crow:

1. Push the floor away
Think active hands and strong shoulders rather than sinking into the wrists. Your shoulder blades should stay engaged as you create space between your ears and shoulders.

2. Shift your weight forward
Your shoulders need to move forward enough that your centre of mass comes over your hands. If you stay too far back, the feet have to work much harder to lift.

3. Keep the hips low-ish 👀
This is the one I’m still working on with the help of my dear friend .wellness_

I have a tendency to hike my hips too high up, which makes the shape look more like Crane than Crow.

When the hips lift too high, you’re changing the relationship between your pelvis, shoulders and hands and it makes finding that sweet spot of balance harder.

Instead, think chest forward + hips hovering, rather than bum to the ceiling.

4. Hug everything in
Use your inner thighs, core and pelvic floor to create a compact shape. Think knees in, ribs contained, heels towards the sit bones.

The goal is to create enough compression, shoulder stability and forward weight shift that your body can balance over your hands.

I naturally want to hike my hips, so one of my current focuses is learning to keep the pelvis lower while maintaining that forward shift.

That’s why I love training with a fellow teacher. We can share our knowledge and support each other’s progress while having fun!

Alignment is about understanding what your body is doing and learning to control it.

Save this for your next Crow practice 🤍

Some stretches are better with a soul sister 🤍

Sometimes you just need a little support, a shared breath and someone who calms your soul behind you.

These simple partner stretches are a beautiful way to add a little connection to your mobility practice while exploring rotation, side body length and opening through the chest.

*ALWAYS communicate with your partner so you can practice safely and not push your partner further than their limit

1. Seated Twist

Sit back to back and use your partner’s body as gentle support as you rotate.

Think tall spine first, then rotate through the torso not the neck.

Keep the movement comfortable and breathe into the space you’re creating. Option to hook your hand over your partner’s knee.

2. Chest Opener + Forward Fold

As one partner folds forward, the other can use the position to gently open through the chest.

The goal isn’t to pull your partner further into the stretch.
It’s about creating support, space and a sense of ease.

3. Seated Side Bend

Use your partner for stability as you reach up and over, creating length through the side body.

Think about breathing into the ribs rather than collapsing into the bend.

And remember: partner stretching should feel collaborative, not competitive.
Communicate. Check in. Adjust the intensity. Your partner should always be able to say less or stop.

SAVE this for your next stretch date and send it to your soul sister.

POV: you’re in your nourishing body era ✨

This client came in wanting to move better, feel stronger, and stop treating his body like a problem to fix.

Because a lot of us were taught that wellness means pushing harder, doing more, and ignoring the signals our body is sending.

But what if the key is learning to support your body instead of fighting it?

Session by session, we’ve focused on mobility, strength, and recovery in a way that actually feels sustainable. This is where change starts to stick.

Your body responds differently when it feels safe, supported, and nourished.

This is your reminder that progress comes from listening, moving intentionally, and showing up consistently.

If you’re entering your nourishing body era too reach out. We might be a great fit 😊

Most people find me when they’re tired of pushing through. They might be struggling with sleep, carrying stress or anxiety, moving through grief, or simply feeling disconnected from themselves.

The space that Reiki helps to create feels different for everyone.

For some, it’s the first time they’ve taken a full breath in weeks. For others, it’s a sense of lightness they didn’t realise they were missing. There’s no expectation, nothing to force, and nothing you need to “believe” in. It’s an opportunity to slow down and let your body do what it naturally knows how to do when it feels safe.

If you’re ready to experience it for yourself, send me a message and let’s see if we’re the right fit. 🤍

You make time for your career.
Your family.
Your friends.

Does your body make the list?

Most people don’t need another fitness challenge.

They need to stop treating their body like something they’ll “get to” one day.

The people I work with understand that how you move today determines how you’ll live tomorrow.

They don’t wait until pain forces them to change.

They choose consistency before their body starts asking for it louder.

That’s why I’m selective about who I work with.

I’m not looking for people who want to tick a box once in a while. I work with people who are ready to invest in themselves and commit to moving well for life.

I’m currently taking on a small number of committed private clients in Phuket.

If this resonates, let’s chat. 🤍

I do what I do to create awareness in the body, in the nervous system, in the patterns people don’t always see.

Not quick fixes, but real, lasting change.

If I can help someone feel more connected, more grounded, and more in control of their life… that’s enough.

💛

I offer 1:1 private yoga, stretch, mobility, chakra rebalancing and mindfulness sessions. Completely tailored to your goals.
