Surf report 16 Monday 7 AM near 7-11
Typical summer wind chop. Knee to waist high and choppy with wind onshore. Tide is low. It's ridable, so I'm going out. 👍
Surf report - Thursday 12 May 7AM near 7-11
Knee high and choppy, wind is blowing onshore. Barely ridable. Will update later if conditions improve.
Update 9 AM - Tide going out and conditions improved a little. Caught a few waist high sets that made it worth going out.

Sorry my fellow Gulf surfers, only Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui made the top 11.
But don't feel bad, Khao Lak did not make the top 11 either.

For years I made the mistake of only surfing a 25 L pro model board. Surfing became a lot more fun after switching to a 45 L mid length. Good article about surfboard selection with videos of guys riding normal size boards.
