North Ridge Adventure 🏔• ML & Fitness Coach
🎯• Mission: prepare people for adventure: fitness - outdoor skills - emergency survival 🔥

I've always enjoyed outdoor adventure, so when my surgeon said he was only prepared to attempt a 50:50 cancer surgery due to my fitness and strength, I knew my lifestyle was supporting me in some way. I feel my 2nd chance mission is to use my experience to encourage and support others who want to step into their most adventurous life! For some that might be a first ever camping trip, or it might be a big overseas adventure in a totally different environment and culture. Whatever adventure means to you, it is not only fun and a source of many happy memories, but the process naturally increases a person's physical and mental resilience with which to better face life's inevitable challenges. I've enjoyed 4 decades of walking, climbing and travelling, 20 of them as an instructor and along the way have made all the mistakes you want to avoid! Now I want to share what I know so people can start adventuring without having to spend years learning how. In 2024 I will be providing coaching in 3 areas:
- Fitness for trekking and endurance
- Outdoor Skills
- Travel Safety and Worst-Case Survival

Good morning folks! Hope you have a good day.

Just a quick video of last night's stealth camp...sometimes you just need to be outdoors, right?

In decent weather or for events this older Laser is a cracking little tent - just big enough for two and a palace for one, with a nice big porch area. Best of all - 1.35kg!! Even by today's standards that's massively impressive. I've got my eye on one of their latest models which is still light but 3/4 season.

And if you like the look of this lifestyle but maybe lack the skills/ need a refresher - you know what to do 😃🤳📨

Take it easy 🤙

Every journey requires you to know where you are, and know where you want to go...

The adventure is in the getting there!

Even a basic map reading course, delivered properly will massively boost your confidence and the scope of your walking exploration.

1 to 1 is ideal but up to 1 to 6 is still effective if you wanted to learn with friends or family.

Today was Armed Forces Day in the UK.

I was honoured to be invited to join the King's representative, the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands and the Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry to take the Salute after the service in the 1000 year old Holy Trinity church.

Bit of a change after dossing in the woods all week, but a great experience!
