Tonga🇹🇴 at the Global Esports Federation Annual Summit!🌎🎮
John Liava'a (Secretary, TNEF) and Alfred Soakai (Board Member, TNEF) proudly represented Tonga at the Global Esports Federation (GEF) Annual Summit held virtually on Wednesday, 11 December 2024. The event brought together 120+ attendees worldwide.

Tonga, the newest member of GEF, was warmly welcomed by GEF President Chris Chan, CEO Paul J. Foster, other GEF executives and fellow Esports Federation members.

🏆Valentino Pale, Tonga’s PUBG Pacific Champion!🎮

📍Nuku’alofa, Tonga – Valentino Pale from Havelu emerged victorious as Tonga’s Digicel PUBG Pacific champion on Friday, 6 December. Competing in a thrilling round of four at Digicel Square in Nuku’alofa, Valentino scored an impressive 65 points to secure the title.
This win paves the way for him to represent Tonga 🇹🇴 in an upcoming tournament in Fiji, where he’ll face off against the top PUBG players from Samoa 🇼🇸 and Fiji 🇫🇯. Details of the event will be announced soon!

🥇 1st Place: “ZFSIMPLE99K” – 65 points, $2500 + return tickets to Fiji + accommodation (Valentino Pale, Fasi)
🥈 2nd Place: “HG TALALO” – 51 points, $1500 (Sangato Malupō, Ma’ufanga)
🥉 3rd Place: “MN CAMPER” – 43 points, $1000 (Arnold Swartsenager Malakai ‘Ofa-mei-Sydney Fifita Silatolu, Havelu)

Digicel CEO Daniel Horan announced the 2025 event will be “bigger and better”, paving the way for future Olympics Esports participation.
The event also launched Digicel’s new 5G network, promising high-speed internet for gamers and mobile users.

The Tonga National Esports Federation (TNEF) proudly announces its acceptance as an affiliate member of the Global Esports Federation (GEF), effective 8 December, 2024. This significant milestone marks TNEF's commitment to supporting the growing and developing esports movement on a global scale.

Joining the GEF aligns with TNEF's strategic pursuit of key partnerships and engagements to advance the esports landscape in Tonga. As an affiliate member, TNEF aims to leverage this partnership to enhance opportunities for Tongan gamers, promote competitive gaming, and foster international collaboration.

The 5th GEF General Assembly will be held online on 10 December, 2024, at 11:30 pm (Singapore Time). Representing TNEF at the virtual assembly will be John Liava'a, Secretary of TNEF, and Alfred Soakai, Board Member of TNEF.

"We are thrilled to be part of the Global Esports Federation," said John Liava'a. "This membership not only places TNEF on the global esports map but also highlights our dedication to building a robust Esports ecosystem in Tonga. We look forward to engaging with fellow Esports federation members and contributing to the global esports community.
