Five Swiss and five Turkish-based startups get the chance to pitch their startup at the virtual qualifier 📌on June 15, 2021 10:00-12:00 (Turkish Time). Out of the ten pre-selected startups, the best four (2 from each nation) will be given the opportunity to present their startups at Swiss Days Istanbul 2021, 24.-26.09.202. Once there, the startups will be given the chance to address a highly diverse audience groups (C-Level/Investors), all actively involved in the relevant industries and the final two winner teams will be announced. ⠀⠀

One of the skills you will need in order to grow, scale and expand your early stage tech company is the power of persuasion.

Being skilled in the art of persuasion will help you:

> Get users to adopt your product
> Get people to join your team
> Get investors to fund your business
> Get strategic partners to collaborate with you
> Get the media to feature you
> Get influencers to talk about you

When I was a psychology undergrad at , Robert Cialdini, author of the book Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion gave a lecture about the principles of persuasion.

These principles are built in to sales, marketing, communications and more.

No company grows on its own.

If you want to grow your startup and expand globally, you will talk to lots and lots (and lots) of people.

You will talk to investors, strategic partners, lawyers, accountants.

You will talk to potential employees, advisors, customers, users, builders.

You will have conversations with developers, distributors and manufacturers.

And what we see is that the entrepreneurs who are the most successful are the ones who learn how to find the value in the advice they receive in each conversation.

The entrepreneurs who are successful listen to feedback - both positive and negative - and use that feedback to improve.

We hear it from angel investors, to VCs to corporate customers - they don’t listen, I told them to do XYZ, but they haven’t done it.

If you want to succeed, be coachable.

This doesn’t mean blindly do what everyone tells you, it means be open to the advice and feedback people are giving you and see how you can benefit from it.

It means to see every conversation as an opportunity to open another door, improve a feature or function, or lengthen your runway.

Being coachable means that you are humble without being subservient.

And being coachable means that you recognize the abundance of resources at your disposable to help you reach your goal.

This is why we spend dozens of hours each week helping our startups meet with as many people as possible, to have as many conversations as they can to help drive growth and create the biggest opportunities for expansion.
