Sobriety and fitness.
How do they correlate?

Sobriety and fitness are closely connected, as physical exercise can play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining sobriety.

Here’s how fitness can benefit sobriety:
1.Stress Reduction: Exercise is a natural way to reduce stress and anxiety, which are often triggers for relapse. It releases endorphins, which improve mood and provide a natural β€œhigh” that can replace the cravings for substances.

2.Improved Mental Health: Physical activity, especially aerobic exercises like running, swimming, or cycling, has been shown to improve symptoms of depression and anxiety, which are common in recovery.
3.Structured Routine: Fitness can create a positive, structured routine. Having a set schedule of workouts provides purpose and focus, helping to fill the time that might otherwise be spent on unhealthy habits.

4.Building Discipline and Self-Control: Just as sobriety requires self-discipline, sticking to a fitness regimen reinforces self-control. The mental strength developed through exercise can support the mindset needed to maintain sobriety.

Oh no! My weight has gone up! 😱😱😱

Don’t be alarmed.
The beauty about lifting weights and Body Recomposition lies in gaining muscles, loosing fat then weight loss!

Here is the evidence.
Alana was thrilled to finally see 100’s on the scale but 2 months after she’s crossed 200 again. Just as she was 4 months ago.

No probelm!
Clearly her strength has increased.

As we can see, she has continued loosing body fat and most importantly: gaining muscles.

The body you want may not always at the weight you have. It can very well and more than likely be heavier.

Cardio with weights will always work. Not just cardio.

1st May, 2023. Dana started initially at 186lbs. She then maintained a 3 lb decrease for 2 months and now she’s back up to 187lbs. (Minus 1month from vacation and the common cold.)

Although she gained 1lb, it is not fat! She has gained significant muscle while loosing fat. This is know as Body Recomposition.

Evident from her stories, she is now able to lift some serious weight. She now squats 100 lbs, deadlifts 150 lbs and benches 65lbs.
