Tourism players, including hotels, restaurants and convention centers, generate a significant amount of food waste. This has a significant impact on the surrounding ecosystem. The Caribbean is a popular tourist destination, and tackling food waste correctly can contribute towards a healthy community and an improved quality of tourism itself.

Funny thing is, we have not even begun to scratch the surface in this area.

In this webinar, we will discuss how businesses and organizations in Caribbean tourism can take advantage of tackling food waste correctly for their own benefit as well as the benefit of the sector and the environment.

Posted • Doh Waste Good Food®️ is changing how the Caribbean 🏝 sees food waste ♻️

Launched by Siel Environmental Services in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 with grant support from the Creative Caribbean project, this bold initiative fuses culture, climate action, and business innovation to revolutionize food waste management across the region. 

At its core is the belief that in the Caribbean, “food is life—it’s too blessed to waste.”

From partnering with restaurants and hotels to reduce waste, to empowering kids with animated storytelling, books, and hands-on exhibits, this is sustainability at work.

Key Highlights of the project:

✅ Waste audits and training for food businesses.

✅ A 3D animated video teaching composting and circular economy.

✅ A vibrant children’s book in the Ky’s Magical Adventures series.

✅ Eco-friendly educational booths for schools and communities.

Made possible through a Creative Caribbean project grant, funded by the  program and implemented by , the Secretariat, and the 🎓 University of the West Indies.
