PETROTRIN PLAISANCE (built 1975) Jacobson Shipyard, New York, USA is presently undergoing major dry docking repairs at Maritime Preservation Limited. It is 144 feet L.O.A. and has a G.R.T. 341.5 Metric Tons, N.R.T. 226 Metric Tons. Powered by twin EMD by General Motors with a Total 4,200 HP.

MV "SEA QUEST" 05/07/2011

The MV "SEA QUEST" (built 1999) by LaForce Shipyard is owned by Southern Towing Limited. IMO #9098373. The OSV is registered in the Port of Spain, Trinidad it is powered by twin Caterpillar 3412C engines with a total of 1440 HP. Gross Tonnage 91 Metric Tons. Net Tonnage 62 Metric Tons.

The need to protect territorial waters off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago is very important.

Govt looking for new border patrol vessels Government is currently in talks with the US, Italy and Spain to secure vessels to patrol local waters and provide naval protection and surveillance.This follows cancellation of a contract with BAE Systems, signed by the People's National Movement administration in 2007 with VT Shipbuilding.
