As we go through life and journey through the harvest times and the desert periods, it's easy to become jaded and feel beaten down by the hard times. It's easy to feel like nothing ever works out in your favour and everything is always a struggle. When I feel like this, I try to remember that it is only for a time, and like all things, this too will inevitably pass. The desert seems long, gruelling and unending, but the harvest that awaits at the end is always worth it. So whatever may come, and whatever lies before me, I will remember to bless the Lord, O my Soul🙏

So many clients come to me with chronic pain; either wide spread, in their backs, in their legs, or necks. My answer is always the same - Yoga!
Massage is also extremely beneficial for chronic pain. I've had clients with chronic back pain who I've advised to receive massage at least once a month, and within 5 months they always say their pain is completely gone.
Ideally, I recommed daily Yoga, and weekly massage. With a routine like that, your chronic pain would be gone within 2 weeks to a month! Most chronic pain is caused by either maladaptive posture, injury, or sedentary lifestyle. Even chronic pain caused by illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia can be alleviated and even completely gone with a healthy Yoga/massage ritual.

When most people think about Yoga, they think about flexibility and being able to touch their toes. While Yoga does help the body to be more flexible, it also helps to improve functional strength.
After a Yoga class, so many of my clients say to me that they're feeling muscles they never even knew they had. Often in a Yoga class, we work muscles that in our regular gym workouts, would never even be touched. Yoga helps to strengthen and tone all of the postural muscles ie all the muscles necessary to hold our bodies upright, while walking, standing, sitting, and exercising. This includes muscles in the core, the legs, the back, the glutes, and the arms. This is what is meant by functional strength. It helps your body move the way the body was created to. It improves strength that is needed for your body to be healthy.
When we have poor posture, everything suffers. Our breathing is limited, our necks, upper and lower backs hurt, our spines become misshaped etc. Yoga helps to correct all these maladaptations, and improves strength.
