Flashback to this day in the year 2016.

Last Sunday, our Black Belt Grading candidates from various dojos locally, and internationally, participated in a run/hike to Breezy Pines. They were accompanied by other Purple Dragon students, parents, supporters and loved ones. It was truly a great day, especially having the opportunity to workout and spend time with our purple brothers and sisters from Purple Dragon ATL and Purple Dragon Point Grey. We hope to spend time on and off the floor, with all the Purple Warriors that are coming to Trinidad and Tobago, for Purple Dragon's 50+2 Golden Anniversary and Black Belt Grading #147.

Mae-Geri
A front kick, performed by raising the knee of the kicking leg to waist height and then thrusting the extended leg forward to strike the target with the ball of the foot.
The principal variations are the front snap kick (mae-geri kegae) and the front thrust kick (mae-geri kekomi).

TOKYO 2020 SCHEDULE

The karate events are slated to take place from Aug. 5 to 7 in Tokyo at the famed Nippon Budokan, a venue built ahead of the 1964 Summer Olympics that has hosted numerous international martial arts events over the years, including the Karate World Championships.

- Women’s Kata elimination/ranking/medal rounds
- Women’s Kumite -55kg tournament and victory ceremony
- Men’s Kumite -67kg tournament and victory ceremony

Aug. 6:
- Men’s Kata elimination/ranking/medal rounds
- Women’s Kumite -61kg tournament and victory ceremony
