Reach Adjust Headset - Explanation and Demo Install

A reach adjust headset allows a cyclist to extend or reduce their reach from the normal setting by using a headset. Reach is most usually adjusted to what is most comfortable to a rider by means of the stem. Where stems work in increments of 10mm, the R56-1 reach adjust headset extends or reduces reach by 5mm. Thus a RAH complements stem selection by enabling the fine tuning of reach down to 0.5mm rather than be restricted to a stem's 10mm increments.

A direct mount chainring fits a crank specially designed and machined to accept it. A "standard" crank consists of a 4 or 5 arm "spider" onto which chainrings are bolted. A direct mount chainring slots directly onto a crank—you have the crank (arm) and the chainring. That's it.
