Tracking the Clouded Leopard's Footprints: A Two-Wheeled Pilgrimage from Stream Bed to Cloud Heights

From under the Guya Bridge, we plunged into the northern branch of Qiediliao Stream—pebbles, soft sand, and rushing water instantly replacing the asphalt road. This dry-season-only off-road route doubles as an adventure into Rukai mythology. Amid the grueling bike-pushing through water and crunching over loose rocks, gazing at the majestic canyon, it's like spotting the legendary Princess Baleng following the hundred-pace snake god along the waterway into the deep mountains.

After enduring over 10 km of riverbed torment to reach the Gurenren Bridge, the real demon finally appeared. The connector road hauling straight up to Provincial Highway 24 is a devilish steep climb that pushes you to the brink of breakdown. With sweat pouring like mad, we felt guided by the mythical clouded leopard, our legs desperately clawing toward the sky.

As our thighs screamed for mercy, the sacred mountain of "Moon Tribe" finally emerged from the clouds. Devouring stone-grilled meat and divine mountain aiyu jelly, we stood high overlooking the winding stream bed we'd just conquered—every ache and exhaustion instantly drowned in massive triumph.

Finally, riding the wind for a exhilarating downhill blast along Highway 24, the mighty Guya Bridge loomed back into view. This loop from stream depths to cloud peaks didn't just drain our bodies—it was a perfect ritual plunging our souls into Taiwan's stunning mountains and Rukai legends.

從谷川大橋下切隘寮北溪，卵石、軟沙與溪水瞬間取代了柏油路。這條枯水期限定的越野路線，也是一場走進魯凱族神話的探險。在艱難的牽車涉水與碎石踩踏中，看著壯麗峽谷，彷彿還能看見傳說中巴冷公主跟隨百步蛇神，沿著水路走入深山的身影。
經歷十多公里的河床摧殘抵達古仁人橋，真正的魔王才剛現身。從溪底硬拔上台 24 線的聯絡道，是一段令人瀕臨崩潰的魔鬼陡坡。汗水狂飆中，我們猶如循著傳說中雲豹的指引，靠著雙腿死命向天空攀爬。
當大腿逼近極限，「月亮部落」神山終於在雲霧中浮現。大口吃著石板烤肉與神山愛玉，站在高處俯瞰剛剛征服的蜿蜒溪床，一切的痛苦與疲憊，瞬間被巨大的成就感填滿。
最後，乘著風沿台 24 線痛快下滑，雄偉的谷川大橋再次映入眼簾。這趟從溪底直達雲端的環狀路線，不僅徹底榨乾了體力，更是一次將靈魂扎進壯麗山河與魯凱神話的完美巡禮。
