Malkia is a women’s cooperative founded in 2003 and located in Bwejuu on east coast of Zanzibar. , which means queen in Kiswahili has the goal to create jobs for local women, empower our daughters and create a better future for us all.

We design unique clothing and accessories, based on European designs and produced by locally sourced materials. I first designs were all wrap around inspired by the Zanzibari kanga. Today you will find many new designs in our shop – children’s clothing, covers for laptops and elegant items for leisure and yoga. We also customise your personal designs.
