MUDA Africa At MUDA, we believe in the power of dance to drive social, cultural, and economic progress for young people. Muda, means “time” in Swahili.

Through education and hands-on experience, we transform East African youth into professional dance artists. Time alludes to movement, rhythm and space but also to a modern urban Africa integrated with traditional knowledge and wisdom. Muda Africa represents the present, with firm roots in the past, defining our vision of the future.

A month of sharing, learning and reflection with Thami Majela at Muda Africa. ✨

Throughout his residency, Thami shared his skills with our dancers while developing his research, Sounds & Bodies Behind the Mask.

It became a very honest, personal and reflective exchange between Thami, our dancers and the Muda team.

Thank you, Thami, for your generosity and for sharing so much with us. ❤️
