Pitso Mosimane’s approach to the Egypt friendly is exactly the kind of test Bafana Bafana need.

He is preparing for major squad rotation, but the bigger idea is simple: give players a chance to experience the pressure of facing a heavyweight opponent away from home.

Mosimane himself said they have to “let them swim with the sharks” because there is nothing to lose in a friendly.

And I actually like that mentality.

You can learn more about a player when you put him against serious opposition than when everything is comfortable.

Lebohang Maboe is back in training.

For me, that's more than just another player returning from injury. Maboe's experience and quality can give Chiefs another dimension when games become difficult.

But let's not get carried away.

Training is one step. Full fitness and match sharpness are another.

If Lebza gets back to his best, Chiefs will have a very useful weapon heading into the busy part of the season.

He didn't say he rejected Kaizer Chiefs.

He said he wanted to play outside South Africa.

Nobody wants to see a teammate injured, but football can be like this.

With Brandon Petersen unavailable, Renaldo Leaner suddenly finds himself in the spotlight.

And maybe this is exactly the opportunity he has been waiting for.

A ball-playing goalkeeper who can stay composed in possession and deal with danger in his box is exactly the type of profile Chiefs can benefit from.

CHIEFS HAVE A DECISION TO MAKE 👀💰

Elias Mokwana reportedly wants to play for Kaizer Chiefs this season.

That is the encouraging part.

But football transfers aren't decided by desire alone.

According to Innocent Mkhize, Mokwana is still exploring his options, with the financial package reportedly being a key factor in whether Chiefs can secure his move.

For me, this is where Chiefs need to be smart.

If they genuinely believe Mokwana is the right player for the squad, then they have to decide whether he is worth meeting those demands.

Because there is a big difference between losing a player because he didn't want Chiefs… and losing him because the club couldn't agree on the money.

This one could come down to the boardroom, not the football pitch. 👀

BAFANA MUST LET THE YOUNGSTERS SWIM 🦈🇿🇦

Pitso Mosimane is sending a very clear message ahead of Egypt: don’t expect the strongest Bafana XI to play the entire game.

And honestly, I understand it.

The qualifiers are done. The next World Cup cycle is the bigger picture, and if Bafana are serious about building depth, these young players need opportunities against serious opposition.

Egypt is exactly the kind of test they need.

You can look brilliant against weaker opposition, but playing against a big African football nation tells you much more about where a player really stands.

The risk is obvious — Bafana could struggle and supporters might get frustrated.

But that is part of development.

If these youngsters are never exposed to pressure, how are we supposed to know who can handle the international level?

For me, this friendly should be judged less by the result and more by what Mosimane learns about his younger players.

Give them the stage. Let them swim with the sharks. 🦈

If Faiz Abrahams starts delivering quality crosses into the box, Kaizer Chiefs could become a completely different attacking team.

Da Silva, Khanyisa Mayo and Wandile Duba are the kind of forwards who can punish defenders when the service is right. Give them good balls in dangerous areas and suddenly Chiefs have multiple ways to hurt opponents. ⚽️💛🖤

With the trio expected to be available for selection against Stellenbosch FC, I’m really interested to see how the coaching staff uses them.

For me, this is not only about having good strikers — it’s about giving them the right service.

Wandile Duba is back, and honestly, this feels like a massive boost for Kaizer Chiefs. 🟡⚫️

His pace, movement and ability to attack space have been badly missed. Now that he’s back, Chiefs have another player who can stretch defences and create problems.

The big question for me is simple: how quickly can he get back to his best?

If Duba returns with the same hunger and confidence we saw before the injury, Chiefs could have a very important weapon back at exactly the right time. 👀🔥
