Merry Christmas and a big happy birthday to Higaonna Sensei who turns 83 years old today!

IOGKF Moldova sincerely congratulates Morio Higaonna Sensei on his birthday and wishes him endless and strong health, many years of training, and success in all ideas and plans.

Last weekend we noticed in the Higaonna Dojo a formal notice of the following.

“Uehara Sensei and Kuramoto Sensei are now promoted to eight dan and Yonekazu Sensei to seventh dan. In future they will be responsible for issuing all grades.”

No further details were given.

We extend our congratulations to the three teachers named, and will post further information as they become available.

Higaonna Sensei update

Dear IOGKF Family,

I spoke to Higaonna Sensei yesterday. He is doing very well. His strength is come back day by day.
He can walk inside of his house without any troubles. He also told me that he started to train little by little at his dojo.
He is invited to do demonstration in Tokyo by Nikon Kobudo Kyokai in February next year. He said that his goal now is to be able to do kata (possible Pechurin) at the demo in February 2022.

How he lives daily and challenges himself are the great teaching for all of us!
