The effect of sports on the human body
Every athlete knows that there are two types of physical activity: aerobic and anaerobic. They have different mechanisms, and they have different effects on the body.
Aerobic exercises are those in which oxygen is the main source of energy. These are not very intensive types of training: walking, running, swimming, dancing, exercise bikes and the like. During such classes, oxygen has time to be absorbed by the body as a whole.
Anaerobic exercises are those in which the main source of energy is not oxygen, but oxidized substances (processed fats, glycogens, lactates) contained in the mitochondria of muscles as energy reserves. Such reserves are needed in the event that a strong load is given to the muscles, and because of this oxygen does not have time to assimilate completely. It is believed that such energy reserves are enough for 20 minutes of strength training.
The main purpose of aerobic exercise is to strengthen the cardiovascular and respiratory systems (cardio training) and fat burning (fitness). The effect of anaerobic exercises on the human body is, first of all, in building muscle mass.
