ANTONOV Company won the contest „The Best Invention of the Year“
ANTONOV Company became the winner of the contest "The Best Invention of the Year", which was held by order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the basis of the Central Research Institute of Arms and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
ANTONOV received a diploma in the category "Aviation technology and armament". The enterprise presented the patent of Ukraine No. 114426 "Cargo hatch of the aircraft" implemented on the AN-178 transport. The inventors are Deputy General Director Oleksandr Dveyrin, Chief Designer Valeriy Kostyuk, Deputy Chief Designer Oleksandr Balun, Lead Engineer Oleksandr Rabichev.
The AN-178 was created to replace the AN-12 transport aircraft. The new airplane is differs with a pressurized cargo cabin, that was taken into account when designing the cargo hatch. In addition, to increase the level of flight safety and expand the operating conditions of the aircraft, as well as to ensure compliance with modern certification standards FAR/CS-25, the AN-178 cargo hatch is fitted with a unique system that completely discount the possibility of uncontrolled opening of the cargo ramp, provides its fixation and necessary alarm signals. This system was installed on the AN-178. It successfully passed initial stage of the ground tests and flight tests with opening the cargo ramp at different airspeeds .

SFTE SpetsTechnoExport together with Antonov Company held a videoconference at the assembly plant, where the AN-178 aircraft is being built for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Peru.
ANTONOV’s acting director Serhiy Bychkov announced the readiness of the aircraft and its parts, conducted a detailed demonstration of the entire production process directly from the assembly plant, which carries out assembly work of the Peruvian aircraft under serial number 006. He also underlined that the AN-178 meets all modern requirements for aircraft of this class, combining high reliability with economy in service.
The Peruvian authorities, from their side, assured that the contract for the supply of AN-178 is valid and there is no reason to cancel it.

Antonov Company has completed jig assembly of the AN-178 airframe (series No. 006) intended for delivery under the contract between Spetstechnoexport Company and Ministry of Interior of Republic of Peru.
On August 21, the aircraft was presented to the Ukrainian mass media by Oleksandr Los, President of COMPANY. He told about the reached results on the construction and expressed thanks to ANTONOV’s team for such high-skilled and selfless works. He accompanied participants of the press conference in the assembly shop.

-201 is a modern modification of AN-148 regional passenger aircraft.
The level of the AN-148-201 passenger compartment comfort matches the standards of the modern long-range aircraft. This is achieved by the rational layout of service premises, ergonomic optimization of common and individual space of the passenger cabin, use of modern seats, interior design and materials as well as low noise level. The passenger compartment can be equipped with a modern entertainment system. Hand luggage, including suitcases of IATA standards, can be accommodated on roomy over-head baggage shelves. The AN-148-201 means comfort for passengers, sufficient economic advantages for operators, convenience for the crew, and ecologic safety for the environment.
AN-148-201 is proposed to the customers in three basic versions: A, B, and E, which differ by a maximum take-off weight and flight range.
AN-148-201 passenger compartment has the following layout versions: from 82-seat two-class layout with the pitch of 28'' in economy class, and 35'' in business class to 92-seat single-class layout with the pitch of 28''.

AN-178 completed the next stage of flight tests - opening the cargo ramp during a flight.
In July 2018 AN-178 multipurpose transport aircraft performed the test flights with opening the cargo ramp in the air.

AN-178 successfully passed the loading/unloading tests of the aviation cargo containers.
Within the test program of transport loading – unloading of the aviation cargo containers, pallets, and self-propelled vehicles were carried out.
To conduct these trials the roller equipment was mounted inside the cargo cabin of the aircraft. The roller equipment included: two branches of latch beams with girder latches and four branches of roller tracks with end latches. The latches provide fixing of the aviation cargo containers and pallets. In order to complete the testing, three HMMWV M1097A2 were used. During ground tests, the designed capabilities of the aircraft loading−unloading were successfully confirmed.

AN-178 pasó con éxito las pruebas de carga / descarga de los contenedores de carga de aviación.
Dentro del programa de prueba de la carga de transporte , se llevaron a cabo la descarga de contenedores de carga de aviación, paletas y vehículos autopropulsados.
Para realizar estas pruebas, el equipo de rodillos se montó dentro de la cabina de carga de la aeronave. El equipo de rodillos incluía: dos ramas de vigas de pestillo con pestillos de viga y cuatro ramas de pistas de rodillos con pestillos finales. Los pestillos proporcionan la fijación de los contenedores y paletas de carga de aviación. Para completar la prueba, se utilizaron tres HMMWV M1097A2. Durante las pruebas en tierra, las capacidades acordes al diseño de la carga y descarga de la aeronave se confirmaron con éxito.
The #AN1X8 family is a line of Ukrainian aircraft produced by Antonov Company since the year 2000. The family serves as an effective and modern solution for aircraft operators. These aircraft are intended for passenger, mixed cargo-passenger and cargo transport operations on regional and short-range air lines.
The AN-1X8 family comprises three models: #AN148, #AN158 and #AN178.
These aircraft have been developed on a unique platform. AN-148 and AN-158 provide capacities between 70 and 99 passengers and have proven themselves to be efficient in operations under different climatic and weather conditions. The prices of their maintenance costs and DOC per seat rate are the lowest in the class.
The transport aircraft AN-178 is the further development of the AN-148/158 family with a maximum payload of 18 t. A key advantage of this aircraft is the ability to carry almost all types of existing packaged freights (containerized and/or palletized). As a result, the aircraft is indispensable in providing logistic support in emergency situations. The AN-178 has a high reliability and can be operated from/to any runway, including those with artificial pavement, unpaved airfields and alpine aerodromes.
Operators may organize the most effective route network by selecting the optimum parameters of range and passenger capacity. The level of passenger’s comfort in these airplanes corresponds to the average level of long-haul aircraft and is achieved by means of efficient layout and arrangement of service compartments, profound ergonomic optimization of common and individual space in the passenger cabin.
